The players that have left and gone on to be good players were actually showing plenty there , but they have a problem identifying them . A lot of this issue has been since Cameron George came on board , he's a poison . The fact that he sacked SJ when he arrived and then hired him again tells you all you need to know about the Warriors and CG .
The list of players they have let go over the last few seasons that have gone on to be solid to very good first grade players would make them a very competitive team now .
Do juniors in NZ prefer to come over here than go through the warriors pathways? Seems a lot of good players from there debuting at Aussie clubs and the warriors aren't bringing many through and signing a fair few Aussies that are basically unwanted here like Murchie, Aitken, Egan etc

Johnson will out last Brown at Warriors, but they are awful team.
Walsh is the next Ponga one good play all day that is it, soft in defence as well.
They have a couple of good workers, and it's strange players who leave there without big wraps go better elsewhere.

I hope Metcalf seen what he is getting into.
Dylan Walker from Manly I give him 6 weeks there and his form will fall off the planet
Ponga was over hyped by the Johns Brothers...

To be honest i'm not that involved on the ground here but from what i see and here there are heaps of talented young players in NZ , history has shown that there is plenty of talent here . Teams like the Storm used to run there own workshops here to identify young talent , don't know if they still do . But i would think most teams have a scouting person who goes to games and tournaments to identify these guys , Benji Marshall an example .
For every success story tho there are dozens who don't go on for whatever reason , our own Nicho Hynes is a classic example of how a real talent can be lost to the game , so luck , determination and more luck , then the ability are all required .
As for the Warriors , well just look at their centres and wingers yesterday , barring DWZ , and the winger that got the drag against the Storm , they mostly look out of their depth , Berry might have a future but he needs to be picked up a better team . Yet they let Maumalo go and the year before that Herbert , i know they are no superstars but worse than what's on show at the moment , i don't believe so .
It seems to be a revolving door of identifying the talent , if they don't show enough they are out and the next kid is tried . SJ is a window into their logic , they wanted him gone 3 years ago , not going to take them to next level , hardly improved with us then they take him back , what really , now he's going to win them a premiership . Meanwhile they have all these other halves taking turns , but now they have said young Harris Tavita isn't wanted , jesus the kid has more game than any of the others , he's had a few injuries but has never got regular games and been moved around a bit , but he's tough and a bloody good defender , just needs some decent mentoring , not getting it with the Warriors , not resigned after this season so another getting dumped . I could see him working for us with Hynes .

Best off for CHT to go elsewhere, he's no superstar but he's a solid first grade level player.

Wow what a performance.

When Kennedy was sent off I thought we were goooooorne...but I am so glad to have been proven wrong

Like many of you legends, I have been following this mob for decades, and for me, personally, that was the 2nd best win by the Sharks. In my opinion. I am still buzzing.
