Manly where handed 12 points last night.
Hopgoods intercept and Supermans flick back.

Waqa poor attempt at the bomb along with a fluke kick by Shcuster. To be fair to Waqa it was a perfectly placed bomb but gee the other 3 tries never should happen.

Throw in RCG robbed a try and Penisini fumble. There wasn't much in this being a 20 point win to us.

Our problem was how we started. We where 14-0 and no energy. In those early stages we also had ample chances at their line and fluffed everyone. Hodgsons kick on the 3rd was unforgivable. Dylan's drop the ball when playing it also.
And when we did get up that cock up between halves and Gutherson running a sheperd and kicking for a penalty.

These are issues. Everytime Manly got down our end they knew what they where doing. It was smooth.

On Dylan to often he just runs and steps back into defense. Yes he clocks up big meters end of game but he needs to be a little more creative.

On Moses his goal kicking been garbage. At the end of game being 4 down instead of 6 meant scoring to win.

As far as adjustments go -

Simmonson goes. Waqa was not terrible last night. He was fine. Needs early ball and never gets it.

Murchie,Moimesea I have zero confidence in. Murchie was a little better yesterday but he won't be much more then a plodder.
Makatoa and Bryce where our best two forwards.
Doorey and Hopgood are NRL level but both need to work on defense.

On the spine it is extremely experienced. It is a shame it looks so nervous. I'm not sure what to make of Hodgson. But he needs to be replaced next season no doubt.

We have a lot of talent to come back in the next week or 2. Lane will have been 6 weeks so surely back soon also. Let's also hope we sign two guys this week.

He may not be ready but I see a first grader in Mataele. If we can give him 10-15mins a game and then let him drop back and play some NSW cup it will be ideal. No point persisting with dead wood.

Greig I am not sure about yet.

On Manly you'd be concerned. Their defense was soft. Even with 70% ball early we where rolling them up the guts far to easy and missing two of our best forwards.

Murchie is f**king terrible. Slow. No skills. Weak.

Hodgson gave away 3 penalties, 1 six again (10 metres)

And everyone's favourite f**kwit:

Waqa Blake - 10 tackles, 4 missed, 1 ineffective
So that game from was Blake was pretty good???

On a side note. Awesome for BA activate his extension clause.

if there’s a sacking, he’ll be due an extra years payout.
But but but but but but but but he bleeds blue and gold. The merkin bleeds green like everyone else.

Is it a bird, is it a plane. No it's superman simmonson tapping the ball for a Manly try.

Apart from the TCT anointing him as Superman we have a coach that clearly can’t see shit standard players. Half of the team are worse than reserve grade standard. And we are Coming last. Let that resonate for a while. After that resonates, then think that the club just handed the clueless coach a contract extension.

Bring back big face, our defense has been shit since he left. For all the shit he copped, he was a decent defensive coach.

And 3 weeks in a row the only difference between us and the opposition has been Mitch's inability to convert tries.

$1.25 million my arse. Mitch is 0 and 3.

Good morning to one and all.

Yes, the no try was significant and should be the first thing spoken about this morning.

Secondary to that, we are playing rusty still and both Brown and Moses are still on holidays.

Dumb mistakes by Simonsson and whatever caused the Hopgood intercept were the icing on the cake.

Lastly, Manly has got X-factor and that’s why they won. Last year, our x-factor won us plenty, but is still in Bali or Las Vegas right now.

Onwards and upwards. Penrith next week <checks notes> oh Thursday again. Fun draw for us.

Draw between round 6 to 10 opens up.

On paper we should win 4 in that block of 5 games. Tigers, Bulldogs at Home, Knights and Titans.

The 50/50 game would be Brisbane in Darwin in that period which is winnable.

But with Parra nothing is a guarantee and I worry what our confidence will be like at 0/5.

If we had been on 2 wins already or jagged just 2 wins in the first 5 rounds our season would have been set up nicely instead we will be chasing our tail.

And pushing uphill to make the 8.

Typical parra there doesn't seem a stand out team this year and we decide to have a shit season while we spent 3 years competing with one of the best teams of all time in our window.

What about the head coach? Can’t he coach players to defend?
