You guys confuse me.

One minute you post that if $1m Mitch kicks at 90%, we're 3-0 and now we're on par with the Tigers. Stick with the script will ya.

Quote me once where I’ve mentioned his goal kicking.

the defence is atrocious

Our defence ( and attack ) will automatically improve with the inclusion of Lane and Matto, it aint the end of the world.

If not for Moses having a shit few weeks goal kicking we'd be 2-0 or 3-0 , on the subject of which the calls to replace him on that front are a tad premature, merkins go through poor runs and he's a genuine 80% kicker, which is definitely NRL standard. Some of those misses he usually would throw over, but whatever the reason he's down on form, form is temporary.
Reynolds, Cleary dont have 3 weeks straight goal kicking yips.

They might miss a couple crucial ones here and there but they make up for it either through clutch FGs or Goal kicking at 90-95% in other periods.

Moses has nailed one clutch kick in 5 years.
You could forgive him for last night if he was already kicking at 85-90% and it hadn't already cost us 2 wins.

To be fair, he did land a clutch kick last year to beat Manly I think it was??

Manly where handed 12 points last night.
Hopgoods intercept and Supermans flick back.

Waqa poor attempt at the bomb along with a fluke kick by Shcuster. To be fair to Waqa it was a perfectly placed bomb but gee the other 3 tries never should happen.

Throw in RCG robbed a try and Penisini fumble. There wasn't much in this being a 20 point win to us.

Our problem was how we started. We where 14-0 and no energy. In those early stages we also had ample chances at their line and fluffed everyone. Hodgsons kick on the 3rd was unforgivable. Dylan's drop the ball when playing it also.
And when we did get up that cock up between halves and Gutherson running a sheperd and kicking for a penalty.

These are issues. Everytime Manly got down our end they knew what they where doing. It was smooth.

On Dylan to often he just runs and steps back into defense. Yes he clocks up big meters end of game but he needs to be a little more creative.

On Moses his goal kicking been garbage. At the end of game being 4 down instead of 6 meant scoring to win.

As far as adjustments go -

Simmonson goes. Waqa was not terrible last night. He was fine. Needs early ball and never gets it.

Murchie,Moimesea I have zero confidence in. Murchie was a little better yesterday but he won't be much more then a plodder.
Makatoa and Bryce where our best two forwards.
Doorey and Hopgood are NRL level but both need to work on defense.

On the spine it is extremely experienced. It is a shame it looks so nervous. I'm not sure what to make of Hodgson. But he needs to be replaced next season no doubt.

We have a lot of talent to come back in the next week or 2. Lane will have been 6 weeks so surely back soon also. Let's also hope we sign two guys this week.

He may not be ready but I see a first grader in Mataele. If we can give him 10-15mins a game and then let him drop back and play some NSW cup it will be ideal. No point persisting with dead wood.

Greig I am not sure about yet.

On Manly you'd be concerned. Their defense was soft. Even with 70% ball early we where rolling them up the guts far to easy and missing two of our best forwards.
Dyl needs to run onto the ball rather than stand so flatfooted then jink. Kenny used to always be in motion b4 recwiving the ball

Moses has kicked at 58% this year. Just not good enough when the good kickers are kicking at 80% or above.

Having said that, our defence is an embarrassment. Unless someone gets towelled up this round, we’ll have the worst defence in the comp. We may also end the round with the best attack, but that’s not much consolation.

I don’t think this is comparable to 2018. We were 0-6 with all but one of those games being losing margins of 10 or more, including a 54-0 result against Manly in round 2. Only three of those losses were against teams that finished top 8.

We‘ve been poor this year, but we’ve lost three against good teams by 4 points. I think we’ll come good but I also think we’ll miss the 8 due to a likely 0-5 start. It’s early days, but last year’s “weaker” teams are looking a lot stronger, so there will be very few easy games.

The article the other day saying Waqa would be squeezed out due to the cap was welcome news, but we’re not exactly stacked with outside back options. Hopefully Russell is ready next week then through the year, Cini or Asi can take Waqa’s spot.

I don’t know why we rushed to extend BA, then despite being short middles, we let Nrown go and don’t stipulate he can’t play against us this year. Just utter stupidity.

Anyway, that’s my rant for the week.

I'm very disappointed. Angry even, given we got ourselves in a position to win all of our games...... But I digress. I watch games on Channel 9. I like to spend my money on things other than TV. The commentary last night was so over the top about Shuster that I was nearly sick. The way he chased Hodgson for his try reminded me of a fat labrador on the beach. And how f**ken hard is it to defend the no look pass that seems to be his only trick. That'll be all from me for today. Don't kill each other. ✌️

Schuster is a good attacker but he also let in 2-3 tries with his piss poor defence. He will never fix that up as everyone talks about his attack.

We should have won the last 3 games easily..

After halftime Instead of getting into the grind we dropped the ball made stupid mistakes we do dumb shit like gift Manly a try of a saved 40/20.

All we needed to do was kick long chase hard, Which we did when we got back into the game.
Manlys players were absolutely gassed.

Matty Johns made a good point today Carty isn't a second rower he is a middle. Carty should have been on the bench and replaced Hopgood after 20-25 minutes.

When Lane went down they needed to bring Toni Matele in to just run hard off Browns hip. Put him in the top 30.

Game turned when we were up 16-14 on a roll.

Parker lost the ball and we had a fresh set attacking the tryline.

It was our worst set of 6 for the game and Gutho gives a penalty away for a sherpard on last tackle.

Wtf were Moses & Brown to get the ball into the in-goal and get a repeat set.

And why did Gutho call for a miracle play there was no need to score right there just roll it in get another set and grind them down.

Manly were gassed in the last 5 mins we scored 3 tries and we really didn't put enough pressure on them to defend there line b2b sets all game.
