Moeroa/watmough/Sandow didn't play like they were 100%. Sandow's kicking game was terrible.

While a terrible first half, and a hell of a lot of improvement is required it was good effort to not let the score blow out like previous years. Those two long range tries came from terrible defence, but our defence on the try line wasnt to bad.

A few tough calls from the ref, but we made some terrible decisions in attack.

We really need to work on our starts to game and first halves, that was the third game in a row half time possession was 60-40 against us

After 20 minutes we had completed 60% of sets (like both previous games) with the Warriors completing at 91%. By the end of the game we had completed 79% to the Warriors' 90%

Which if you take out the first twenty, the game was pretty even ( we scored 16 to there 5 in the last 59 mins). We need to start better. This week and last week we conceded to many points in the first twenty.

This result puts some pressure on us now to get a result against Souths next week. Back at Pirtek anything is possible though. We really need to at worst win 2 out or next 3 games though.

2 out of our first 4 (difficult draw) would be a good result. The win against Manly shows what we're capable of.

1 out of 4 isn't the end of the world, if we don't beat the Premiers. But we need to get back to something like 4 from 8 (winning 3 of the following 4 games) to establish any momentum for the season.

We beat the 2013 Premiers at Pirtek last year, no reason why we cannot beat the 2014 Premiers this year.

Either way, at worst we need to win 3 out of the next 5, which involves:

Souths at Pirtek
Tigers at ANZ
Titans at Pirtek
Knights in Newcastle
Broncos in Brisbane.

Agree.

Tigers are travelling ok, but still seem weak to me and should be a winnable game? Titans at home should also be a win.

Then we just have to snatch a close win against one of the Bunnies, Knights or Broncos to be back at 50%/8th place! By then we might get Semi back, and Junior will be just around the corner.

I am going to ask a serious question of you Lingard. All the hype that surrounded the signing of both these players and they are now seemingly scrapheap material. We were prepared to go with a player that was setting the world on fire at Manly plus wait 2 years for him to complete his religious obligations, still play origin and now not worth keeping? Sandow wasn't far behind him to get to this point as well. My question is why do you think it comes to this after a relatively short career at the Eels?

Um ....... is it really a serious question?
Okay. Not scrapheap material - just superfluous to Parramatta's needs. With Sandow, I think he was made to look a lot better than he actually is while he was at Souths. Don't get me wrong, I think he does some things that no other half in the NRL could do - but he also makes ridiculous decisions, makes mistakes and fades in and out of games. He was able to get away with this at Souths (because they had a better team), but not at Parra. Let him play five-eight at a club like Melbourne and he might slay it. But I really don't think we'll go anywhere while he is our half-back.
As far as Hopoate is concerned, he was either over-rated (I over-rated him), or the two years out of the game has really taken its toll. Also, I think he is a specialist centre and definitely not a fullback (in my opinion).
Unlike some others, I thought he went pretty well at centre last year and I'd be happy to keep him if he played centre next year. But not on big money. (I also don't understand why he was selected to play origin last year. He was good, but not that good.)

THIS

Lingard's gettig old, we must go easy on his fragile brain. :D

Steady on there, Casper; I haven't answered the question yet. Well, I have - but not when you posted this comment. That is, I read the question and then answered it and then read your comment (about getting old and a fragile brain and all that) and then I ...... um ......... shit, I've forgotten what I was saying.

Hoppa just doesn't have the speed to be a great fullback.

Ma'u was a beast - best player on the park by a fair distance.

Robinson was actually very good - busy in the first half and classy in the second. And boy did he look great when he clapped on the speed, even though he probably should've stepped inside. He's still gonna f**k up heaps tho, so people will have plenty of ammo in future, but he was good today. I'd stick him at fullback.[/QUOTE]

Me too.

Now we know why BA signed 2 experienced centres, Morgan is not the answer, so needed to strengthen the area

Centres and Wingers are harder to replace than forwards, defence and positioning is key - we found that out today

So did the forward with two tries up the middle

We didn't lose today because Morgan was our Centre.

We lost today because we kept getting penalised in the play the ball and became gun shy in the play the ball, which meant that the Warriors could just steam roll over the top of us.

Poor ball control early in the game didn't help things either.

How did that work out though? Champion is gone for the season which leaves us with Morgan or when fit, Toutai. I prefer Toutai to Morgan but he hasn't played at centre in the top grade.

As said though, Morgan didn't lose us the game. Discipline around the ruck and the disruption again around injured players early in the game. We panicked and the Warriors were out by 22.

Classy centres have a knack of making their outside and inside team mates look f**king good. I can hardly remember a game when Morgan's side of the ruck looked shit hot in both attack and defence for 80 minutes.
Maybe he has B.O. that f**ks everything up around him. Maybe during every game there is a mirror somewhere out there drawing in his attention but whatever the f**k it is, the troubling issue won't be resolved until Morgan is removed from the field of battle.
