And a classy centre probably costs $400-500k while morgan shouldnt be on much more then a third of that.

We need to realise we can't have origin class players in each position.

Some people seem to have a hard on for the centre position, even suggesting that marquee quality players should be stuck out there.

It's just an outside back - it's like a winger except instead of returning kicks he makes three or four times as many tackles. Not a good position to waste too much money in. Save the big bucks for spine players and forwards that will play long minutes.

When you look at recent premiership teams they have all had at least one good (rep quality) centre. Walker, Jennings, Chambers and Gasnier. All much better than anything we have / had.

All except Gasnier are massively overrated, doing it easy behind a dominant pack. I bet they all had a 'rep quality' winger as well. What a coincidence.

I wouldn't put De Gois on anymore. Today showed Peats gives us much better line speed than De Gois and he's a much more calm dummy half. 2 instances today when we had Warriors on the back foot and De Gois just lost his head. One where Timmy passes it back and De Gois is slow as a wet week to get to it prompting Mannah to try and jump on it then when he palms the bloke in the face for no reason giving away a stupid penalty. I think it's time to put another forward on the bench (if we have one?) Peats as a second rower doesn't do it for me either. He's a hooker and thats it

2 out of our first 4 (difficult draw) would be a good result. The win against Manly shows what we're capable of.

1 out of 4 isn't the end of the world, if we don't beat the Premiers. But we need to get back to something like 4 from 8 (winning 3 of the following 4 games) to establish any momentum for the season.

The second half today she it was set for set and we were composed showed what we could do too. Unfortunately we give away stupid penalties although today i thought some were touch and go.

This result puts some pressure on us now to get a result against Souths next week. Back at Pirtek anything is possible though. We really need to at worst win 2 out or next 3 games though.

Regardless of next weeks result we need to start better no matter what. Stop the silly penalties and hold the f**king ball! Norman is taking a leading role which is great to see. I'd start Wicks too

De Gois was one of our worst today. Against Manly he was one of our best. Like most little blokes he's much better behind a dominant pack. Sandow was similar - one of our worst today but one of our best in round one.

I think he got a bad knock in one of his first few tackles and then received a killer blow later on.

According to a newspaper article that quoted our CEO, Morgan is one of the highest paid players at the Club.

That's why I used the word "shouldn't", if there is any truth in they article it's no wonder our squad has be crap over previous years

....and we had some terrible reads/decisions in defense early on too. Unfortunately young Tepai was at the centre of both of them.

Tepai needs to start from the bench or have a rest, no way does he look 100% fit.

There is so much deadwood that still needs to be cut from the squad before we become remotely competitive.

Classy centres have a knack of making their outside and inside team mates look f**king good. I can hardly remember a game when Morgan's side of the ruck looked shit hot in both attack and defence for 80 minutes.
Maybe he has B.O. that f**ks everything up around him. Maybe during every game there is a mirror somewhere out there drawing in his attention but whatever the f**k it is, the troubling issue won't be resolved until Morgan is removed from the field of battle.

Clearly you have a problem with Morgan. I think you should actually watch the game
If Morgan had Ma'u inside him instead of an injured Moeroa who is definitely gun shy with his shoulder we would be saying what a good game he had
Morgan was left with making too many tackles on Hoffman
His runs with the ball with limited opportunities were strong

Morgan wasn't the issue - in fact he defended very well. IMO Tepai needs a rest, he looked about 75% fit, and had a few poor defensive reads which cost us badly.

Injuries are cruelling us at the moment.

Mau was sensational, he is becoming my favourite player. We did well to fight back after the disastrous first half, but my god was there some terrible ref calls that stopped any chance we had of getting a nail-biting finish.

Let's see if we get the same hometown penalties early next week?

How about that knock-on called against Tepai when we were on their line? Atrocious call.

Do you happen to have a link to the article? I find it hard to believe Morgan (who is a starter for Wenty and backup for first grade) is on anything more than 100k.
