i thought he was very ordinary last night

he created the first try
put King over for the second
put King over for another (but King dropped it)

yeah, I suppose that is ordinary by his standards.

With the salary cap going up to 4 mill, most "big name" centres (King, Tahu etc) will be looking out for contracts of around $300-400k.

Gasnier is worth $400,000 IMO.

Excellent player and one you can build a team around.

Centres aren't worth much? Reg would be worth $500,000-$600,000 in today's game.

His manager is George Mimis.
Gasnier has already played five eighth, a couple of times.

Good to see he dogged union. I haven't been overly impressed by the way negotiations were conducted - to the stage where for a while I didn't care whether he stayed or left. I must concede that was probably just spite. It would have been a tremendous shame to have the great Gasnier name playing that other sport.

Reg Gasnier played rugby union while he attended Sydney Tech High, including playing five-eighth for CHS Firsts.

GM,

Glad to give you something to smile about. However, this was in response to an earlier post that said something to the effect that it would be a pity to see a Gasnier playing rugby.

Somebody should take this up with Reg.:sarcasm:

Ryan Cross played for Australian Schoolboys while he attended Waverley College.

Why shouldn't he have the chance to try himself on the world stage?
"...because god knows he won't get a chance in league"

That's how the post was meant to finish, wasn't it? FTR I hope Cross rejects yawn-yawn as well.

"If" Reg played a couple of games of Rugby Union, that does not mean he was a Rugby Union player. Bob Fulton did National Service in the 1960’s and played mid week Rugby Union because there was no Rugby League competition in the Australian Military. This was at the same time the he played Rugby League for Manly of a weekend.

In the early 1990’s, I met Reg's brother John Gasnier, who was involved with the Renown Rugby League at Oatley. The impression that John gave me, was that his brother and him played most of their junior football for this club. Rugby Union did not come up in the conversation.

The old one goat theory, of shagging one goat makes you a goat f….. does not seem to hold much water,
