If the Kangaroos are too expensive, then why not Aus Indigenous All Stars.

GBL isn't a ranked test nation team either, so no issue there.
IndigenousAS presumably dont have a $20k per player appearance fee locked into the Players Union CBA.

It's perfect
which is why it won't be considered

England lost against Australia by 6 points in World Cup Final.

Don’t play again for years. Rugby League baby!

No thanks, there’s no need to promote racially divided teams anymore than currently is being done. If you go down this path there would be calls for seperate ranked teams within 15 years. It’s not a path the world should be going down.

I still can’t believe with that huge Samoan population in Auckland a game wouldn’t have turned a profit.

It would have made money.....the problem is the Samoan RL and the NZRL,as hosts, don't have to money to underwrite it just incase it didn't...so they won't "risk it"

I agree....the ARLC don't though..

Anyway...there's a revised schedule..

GB v Tonga on 26th Oct
GB v nz on 2nd Nov
GB v nz on 9th Nov
GB v png on 16th Nov

Could be announced this week, first 2 games likely double headers with a Australia v nz then Australia v Tonga then stand alone tests v NZ & png.
Very sketchy schedule, if gb were going to be reserected a 3 game series would have been more logical

Fiji NSW Cup facebook shared a link (behind a paywall) about Aus V Tonga, England V NZ & Fiji V Samoa triple header in Auckland later this year.

So whether that is an oversight or not who knows.

Even if it's at Eden Park Pretty unambitious, it'll be at Mt Smart though..

KANGAROOS-TONGA PART OF TRIPLE TREAT

In another huge boost for international rugby league, the Kangaroos are likely to again play Tonga in November as part of a triple-header in Auckland.

Talks are under way for Australia to play Tonga on the same day New Zealand host England and Fiji take on Samoa.

The triple-header would be staged the week after the World Nines tournament at the new Western Sydney stadium.

It would attract huge media interest after the Melbourne Cup and before the cricket Test season kicks into gear. This is a great result for international rugby league.

No more ridiculous ventures like the failed Denver Test experience of New Zealand v England last season.

The growth of the international game is all about the emerging Pacific nations, Tonga, Samoa and Fiji.

They have to regularly compete on the big stage at the big venues.

They will get stronger and stronger and eventually become tier-one nations.

No mention of Pacific Cup, no mention of GB Lions tour. When's PNG playing? Isn't this how the Pacific Cup is meant to work?

Haha f**k me, playing 3 games, which could probably pull 80k between them played separately, at a single venue (probably mt smart... ) triple header is a far more ridiculous venture than the Denver Test ever was.

And imagine thinking the entire international future of the sport hinges on 3 nations with the combined population of a mid sized Sydney suburb

I'm confused...

Peter beattie just announced on twitter that the trans Tasman tests will be played down at Wollongong on Friday 25th Oct...that's the week after the world 9s..
Yet the article says this triple header in Auckland is the week after the world 9s in NOVEMBER..

WE CANT EVEN GET A SIMPLE MESSAGE ACROSS WITHOUT f**kING IT UP lol

Week after,two week after,double header,triple header,England or GB ???

Aus v NZ has been officially announced for Oct 25

The triple header is still speculation, hopefully completely incorrect speculation, at this stage and obviously won't be on the same day.

What's unclear is whether Aus v NZ doubles up into the Oceania Cup or if it's a separate fixture.
