1.) Who is your favourite Rugby League team(s) ? Newcastle Knights, South Newcastle Lions, Glendale Gorillas, Wigan.

2.) Favourite other sport / teams ? Newcastle United, Liverpool, Lakers, Packers, Ajax Amsterdam.

3.) Approximately, where do you live ? Western Suburbs of Newcastle/Lake Macquarie

4.) What other sporting activities / pastimes do you take part in ? gym, basketball, kick down the park...

6.) Any other other comments about yourself ? eeeerrrmm dont like conflict or unreasonableness. Strive to see the other side of the arguement, and nothing frustrates me more than pig-headedness and arrogance, 2 things that seem to abound on the web. Try to treat others how I would wish to be treated.

7.) Any comments about this forum ? Was at first skeptical, however can see why people are here - the kiddies are running wild elsewhere.

Maca,
Nice to see you here. This site is a bit short of Knights input.
The new Knights section in MattO's new room is good as well.
WORL is in real trouble now.

1.) Who is your favourite Rugby League team(s) ?

North Queensland Cowboys!!! Still have a soft spot for Brisbane.

2.) Favourite other sport / teams ?

Don't mind a bit of cricket during the warmer months. Have been going to sleep lately with one ear on the radio from England. Also, alas, I like watching the AFL on tele (blame my Victorian housemates for that!), also at the school where I work at in Port Douglas AFL is huge and you'd rarely see a Stedden bouncing around

3.) Approximately, where do you live ?

Mossman, 75km north of Cairns

4.) What other sporting activities / pastimes do you take part in ?

I play the piano very reguarly, getting up to a Grade Eight certificate in pianoforte (honours). Love Midnight Oil, they always get a bit of a flogging on my CD player (....how can we dance when our earth is turning?)

5.) What's your main non- sporting activity ?

Currently studying to be a primary school teacher at James Cook University in Cairns. Did my last prac teaching at Parramatta State School.....Cairns, not Sydney. All the kids are mad Parra fans and the touch team is called the Eels (surprise surprise)

6.) Any other other comments about yourself ?

Reguarly contribute to Matt's site, mainly for local Cairns results and Cowboys news no-one has picked up on. Twenty years old. Libra. A bit impartial to caramel. Have a kelpie/german short haired pointer named Chief after the immortal Newcastle prop. Also had two little terriers but they got collected by taxis.

7.) Any comments about this forum ?

It's nice to see the same old faces from the old forum, with decent quality discussion. I'm already feeling twenty years older!

6. I became interested in RL while surfing the net. Have not seen a game as it is not on tv in Canada. Have watched a few union games lately on one of our sports channels called Sportsnet, picked up from Foxsports in the US. Have known of union for years, never a big fan, hope to see a game of league sometime.
7. Just tried it tonight after seeing Willow recommend it on Sports bar. Originally joined WORL but now find it hard to sort through all the silly posts re best-looking player, etc. Have joined a few other RL forums. This one looks good. I like to ask a lot of questions - hope that's ok. I do know a lot about N American sports, esp NBA and NHL, if anyone wants info

Welcome aboard Steve. Where abouts in Canada do you live? I used to live in B.C and loved it. I am also a big NFL fan and love the Broncos.

Out of curiosity, what is your connection speed to the internet?

About 60 miles north of Toronto. I have been to Quebec and the Maritimes, but never out west.
56k (why?)

The reason I asked for your connection speed is because you can download NRL games of the Telstra site if you have a broadband connection and you can watch them on your pc. It may be a good way to see your first game. I don't know if a 56k connection will work though.

Howdy Mud,
Just having a bit of fun.
I am not too bothered, we had to break up the j/v, it has and always was going to be a financial and football disaster.
It is up to Bears members and supporters to move now, and that is in train.
Manly always had the licence, we were always on the outside looking in.
You must be chuffed with the Broncos form of late, is Bennett just having a bit of fun, giving the Eels and Dogs a bit of a sniff before you guus up the nate in the semis.
If you speak to any Eels, Dogs or Cronulla fans they are in the gf already.. dangerous talk that..a little premature!

Hey Beasty !

Don't really feel the Broncos are a chance, do ya ? I have them written off for sure with their ever-increasing injury toll. Then again - Bennett seems to able to get incredible performances from blokes and it would only take them to fire at once during finals time and they could cakewalk the cup this year. But I still doubt it ....

Naaah - Parra are finals chokers in my books. 'Berries are perhaps a good bet. I just don't reckon anyone has really put their hand up since the Bronx crashed and burned a few weeks ago.

You think there'll even be a "Norfs" next year without the scum-venture ? I said at the start that joint-ventures don't work .... it has to be a merger or nothing ! Anyway, didn't you lot give birth to those turds back in the 40s or something ???
