What did everyone think of the first episode of Gladiators for 2008?

I thought it was good, but not as good as the 90s episodes.

It was good enough, i'll keep watching. I'm glad they've kept the same games (altho how gay is it that they have to grab a ribbon off their back on pendulum!) and that the eliminator is pretty much the same.

I like Outlaw, he went so hard out on pyramid, not like that cat Scar.

That challenger who won was awesome, I reckon he'll go all the way.

Yeah, Outlaw was a machine on the Pyramid.

Notice how the male winner played rugby (did they specify which code?) and the female winner was a touch footballer, but when they kicked butt the commentators instead chose to emphasise how they used to play AFL.

I was only an early-teen when Gladiatiors was on tv in the '90s ... I don't know if it's my perception of it now, but it was a damn sight better then than the one I watched tonight. I thought the Gladiators were mostly -if not all- tools tonight (stupid poses and cheesey insults). I agree with Russell Crowe's Band, bring back Hammer and Vulcan!

I even thought they made Bill Harrigan -the main reason I watched the show tonight- into a tool (I know people aren't his biggest fans -given he was a footy referee and all!- but I don't mind him) ... what's with his pronuncuation of "Gladiators"? Irritating and unneccessary I feel.

Let's see how this show goes ratings-wise, but I don't see it lasting the year. If they're gonna bring back and old physical game show, why not 'It's A Knockout"?! That was a classy show back in the day!

Watched a little in the back ground. Only like to see those Gladiator ego's come unstuck. Thats the only interest for me. When the little man beats the beef burger.

I used to watch it religiously when I was a kid, so I tuned in last night for the lulz.

Good to see that not much has changed. The Gladiators need time to get into their characters and things will pick up after that. Maybe I'm getting cynical in my old age, but it looked like a couple of the challenges were scripted. Duel especially. It looked as if they were told to go easy for some reason.

Zoe Naylor's cleavage will keep me tuned in for the next couple of weeks.

Yeah I thought Duel was scripted a bit. As if that dykey gladiator with the mohawk (Amazon?) would deliberately step onto the other person's platform lol.

And when the guys were losing their balance, their foot was easily on the platform but they still managed to fall off.

If you think Zoe is good on TV, you should see her in real life from all angles - I was in the audience in January and she was smokin!
