You are tipping he will be sacked maybe before June 30th.
Are you for real when you say stuff like this?
Can you imagine them re-signing him then sacking him 8-10 weeks later?
Has that ever been done anywhere before?
They would look like a bunch of idiots if they did that.
The idiots have made their beds and will now lie in them for at least another year if not 2.
Perhaps look like idiots but no one would blame them, hell I'd be cheering it on!

Picture this - Your in a nuclear sub.
In a scene from "The Hunt for Red October."
We the public turn to our management
and say...
"You arrogant bastards - You've killed us all."
Except the sub has been sinking for 10 years and management have been routinely scraping it on reefs, ignoring their crew and saying “get f**ked we won’t sink”.

Sad but true. The board will not admit they did something wrong.

Last year we won on the back of our defence and willingness to back each other on the field never giving up.
This year the coach indicates a change in attacking style which has stifled our defence. The defence and intent has disappeared and so have our opportunities to win games and be competitive. I grant a few missing players however what was dished up yesterday after the players acknowledged their bad performance 1 week ago is unacceptable.

Our bad performance was on par with Penrith. I would say Penrith would beat us!
Indicating we have deep rooted problems.

I'm in total agreement with this. The guys we have playing, coaching and running the club are absolutely pathetic and a waste of space. Our wins except for the big win against the bulldogs were lucky and yes, without those close wins we would only be on 2 points.

We had plenty of time to sign up Des Hasler last year, who definitely knows how to coach. Look at how Manly are playing and they have been winning without Cherry Evans and Turbo. The management should have bitten the bullet and paid out McGregor before the start of 2019 but oh no lets keep him and then sign him up for another two more years so that we can continue in the same way as for previous years. We just don't seem to have much luck do we?

What's happened to our defence? What attacking moves have we been working on? What game management plans do we now have in place? Where is our pride? What is our mindset?

Hopefully things will change when we get Corey Norman and Korbin Simms back - although initially they will be tentative in their play after suffering the breaks to cheekbone and arm respectively.
I'd say we have some key players busted or fatigued. A Mary coached team relies on players doing just as they are told to do by the coach. It also relies on someone on-field managing the team and reminding/insisting the coaches instructions are carried out.

Mary is not up to first grade standard and is a slow learner. He issues instructions that are beyond the capability of some of his players and although sound in theory, are not able to be carried out if the player is injured or fatigued e.g. Sims and Frizell.

Mary picks players on loyalty because he needs their support. He knows if he loses the dressing room due to unhappy players, he will lose his job, a job he values as like winning lotto.

The only real option moving forward is to bring someone in who knows how to put a broom through the joint and set up our Club with a real coach and a balanced squad. Unfortunately last season there were a number of coaches off or coming off contract that could have done this job but now have found employment at other clubs.

I'd say the best fit for now is Gould; maybe on a 1 or 2 year deal as head of football. Let him sort it all out reporting directly to the Board. I no longer have confidence in B Johnston our new CEO. He has demonstrated to me that he is compromised by the old boys club and did not use the initiative to sort out suitable compensation in advance if the De Belin Federal Court challenge was unsuccessful.

So bring in Gould and let him sort things out and replace those who are not up to it and to rebalance our top 30 squad.

I was thinking about why the club is not performing and I couldn't find just one thing that explains the teams performances.

There are examples of extreme passion displayed by the players, Korbin playing with a broken arm, the semi final against the Broncos and how pumped Tariq was, the excitement after Corey Norman kicked those field goals. Mixed in with this are games like yesterday.

There maybe players carrying injuries , the wrong use of the bench, a poor game plan, etc. but individually they don't explain the complete lack of effort. To me this is a problem that starts with the club itself and flows down through the coach, then the coaching staff to the players themselves. Ie. its a cultural problem more than anything else.

We had these issues with Brown as coach, then again with Price and now with Mary. Its amazing that when Bennett came on board he removed the team from the hangers on, made it his team and turned them into a group that believed in each other with a point to prove to the world. A new coach will have no success unless he is able to isolate the team from the "old boys" like Bennett did.

I laughed after the Warriors scored to take the lead last week, now I'm numb after yesterday.

The board is more concerned about the politics, keeping their and their mate's jobs.

They don't give a crap about putting this once great club in being in a competitive position, let alone winning a premiership and most important, the history of the red V and it's supporters.

The dinosuars of the Dragons board stated their reasons why the wanted McGregor when they extended him last time.
"Career coach" they said

They want to create a dynasty aka Bennet or Bellamy, where they really didnt have to do much and assume the team would make the 8, play finals football and basically everything sweet.

McGregor is also the classic example of cry wolf. "I havent had the team i wanted", "we've had injuries to key players", "jdb's case" and the Board, because of its blind notion of a "dynasty" coach laps it up like a parent with a sobbing child, completly ignoring the real issue that McGregor is no more than a Coal league coach with limited vision and coaching nouse.

The Board just doesn't want to deal with it. It's too much work to find a replacement that fits their agenda. Added to this is the realisation they were wrong in the first place.
A first class organisation would have already conviened an urgent neeting to discuss the current poor performances of our 1st grade team. In particular that we have only won one game by any margin, against a very poor opposition (at that time), the others have been 1 point f/g wins and a fortunate 2 point win against Manly.

The JDB case CANNOT be used as an excuse for Sundays debarkle. A coach has to prepare for ALL contingencies, not just an assumption that JDB would be available, thats just total BS. Its akun to a player going down in the warm up, you accept and get on with it. If the Board accepts this then they are very unfit for executive duties.

Extending McGregor was a mistake, but its not too late to save face, however, waiting and hoping things will turn around is negligent, McGregors had 5yrs to do that already.

They are idiots for re-signing him early

What money is he on?? Write it off. Time to cut losses and sign a real coach, he is not capable of turning this mess around. The long term cost of not acting now is far greater than the short term cost.

They put similar debacle performances in last year, well before JDB did his alleged stupidity, nothing to do with it, this is the coach and only the coach. A great coach would have turned the JDB situation around, minimised its negative impact, while still supporting him through the process. Now for him to actually blame the team's poor form on that situation is really poor form and shows no idea about ownership.

The easy to please people who continue to buy memberships year after year of mediocrity are part of the problem here. The only way this board will ever take drastic action is if their revenue takes a hit. Yet people continue to hand easy money over to the club every year.

I could handle the board selling the club off at a discount price if WIN was prepared to put in and restore our reputation. Unfortunately they seem happy to continue watching the board run the brand into the ground.

Maybe when we no longer exist they'll realise the error of their ways.

This club is bigger than the people running it.

IMO & I don't care what it costs but the club need to payout the peanut coach at 2019 seasons end. They should seriously consider moving heaven & earth to get Cooper Cronk as coach for 2020 & beyond. That bloke has a serious footy brain and such a hard working dedication to succeed I know he's a novice with no coaching experience, but surround him with the right senior assistant and I believe he'll be a reflection of Bellamy & Robinson ethics. He's also a marketing and promoters dream to generate revenue for a NRL club looking to rise above mediocrity. Get on it Brian!!
