I recall saying something similar a while ago and was told it was not logical or some sh*t.

i remember reading in the tele midway through the year stats on where teams scored tries and where they had them scored against them. Our middle third defence section had one of the lowest tries against in the league. Our bomb defusing was terrible (i think worst in the league) particuarly our wingers, this along with poor outside back defenders(Marshall, Lawrence, Fitzhenry, Moodie and Fatz in parts) hence a lot of tries scores against us out wide.

Mate...YOU are the one making the claims. Back it up.
People are telling me that teams have kicked at 90% in the past. Why don't you ask them to back that up?

Just for you though captain contradiction.

Penrith kicked at 86% in 1997. Girdler was at 91%

Halligan never made 90%, nor has El Masri.

So I'll ask again.

If no team has kicked at 90% in the past, why should we be expected to?

If we have to rely on goalkicking to beat teams we're expected to defeat, then we really can't be playing well enough to win.

Defence will win you more games than goal kicking ever will.

Or let in less ... though with sizzler in charge that is about as likely as the WTF being admitted to the Priory CLinic suffering anorexia

I fear for the "to be condemned" Glen Morrison toilet block which has now been declared a natural disaster zone. That concrete rooftop was never intended to sustain such masses.

Our prob is we score our tries out wide and go up in 4s whereas the other side score them under the sticks through our pillows and go up in 6s

Well...lets see some stats, stat man
Very easy to follow, they were all consecutive posts.

BTW, someone showed you I believe michael Witt kicked at over 90%

So once in 100 years means it is to be expected
A kicker kicking 90% is as common as a sizzler coach side playing in a tryless grand final

It must be due a Heysel type collapse
Incidentally the employment rate among WTF would be on a par with that of bin dipping liverpool fans

This thread suggested the team should kick at 90%. I stated a team has never kicked at 90% before, and it hasn't. So why should we be expected to?

This whole individual goalkickers kicking at 90% is irrelevant.

No team has kicked at 90% ever. Why should we be expected to?

As far as the other point goes, it is merely an opinion. If you want to be a pedantic moron about it, go and watch the games from this season.

WRONG. Girdler kicked 76/82 - 92.68%

Other kickers for Penrith that year -
Craig Gower 1/1
Greg Alexander 4/7
Garen Casey 2/3

So in fact Penrith kicked at 89.25%. The best ever TEAM goalkcking average.

So you are correct about no team kicking at 90%. However it is achievable when you consider Brandy missed an absolute sitter from right in front...

Personally I'd be happy with anything over 80%

fine I got the numbers wrong, I didn't have sources at hand to be accurate.

I was right that Penrith didn't convert 90% of their goals though, neither has any other side, which, as I have to keep telling you idiots, has been my argument all along.

Are we finishing being Pedantic over irrelevant data?
