Why not the Gold Coast Bears?
No other team in the NRL uses it and I can only think of the Burleigh Bears on the Gold Coast who use it but I am sure they will want to become a feeder Club to the Gold Coast and wouldn't really mind.

The way i see it, most teams in the NRL have a name that matches up with another team:

Raiders------Warriors (easy)
Tigers -------Panthers (both big cats)
Eels--------Sharks (both aquatic creatures)
Roosters-----Sea Eagles (both birds)
Knights-------Dragons (Knights slay dragons in mythology)
Bulldogs------Rabbits (both domestic animals)
Cowboys------Broncos (broncos are wild horses, cowboys ride horses)

That leaves the Storm as the only team without a "partner"

Thus the new Gold Coast team must be called:

Gold Coast Lightning
Gold Coast Sunbeams
Gold Coast Light Rays
Gold Coast Tropical Cyclone
Gold Coast Hurricanes (Wellington super 12 team might get pissed off)
Gold Coast Heat
Gold Coast El Nino

I thought it was already said that the Dolphins were dropping the name, because Redcliffe claimed it (they believe they are a chance at becoming an NRL team down the line)

i read in an interview with Artie beetson that hes happy to see GC get in bt he thinks Redcliffe should actually be promoted!
