Be interesting to see who comes in on the weekend. Mamo seems to be next in line given he was on standby a few weeks ago but he's not right at centre. I'd probably go Chanel.

Mamo at FB i think is what they will go with.

I'd go chanel at centre. Or wing, with jimmy at centre. Seems a shame to move our best (only) attacking weapon from fullback

Yeah, Gags is playing excellent footy at the moment...probably in career best form. It'd be stupid to move him...which is why we'll probably do that haha

Saying that though the season is done so it might be good idea to give Mamo some experience and see how far away he is if he's our fullback plan long-term.

I look forward to the press release from the Knights later today to say that Gidley has reneged on his UK deal and signed a new 3 year deal with us.

As much as we all know Gagai is going well at FB, if Mullo is fit I can see Stoney using him and Tui in the halves, Gids back to FB and Gags back in the centres.

I'd rather keep Gids and Mullo in the halves, Gags at FB and bring in a youngster to replace BJ (Chanel maybe).

Naturally rumour mill in Newie in overdrive. Everyone from Hodkinson to Bird being discussed. Heard we may even be moving more players on and that the penny with Stone has well and truly dropped. We can only wait. If I were Stone I would be working 24/7 to make the best deal I could possibly make and get the players he needs to have a fighting chance.

I actually don't think we need Bird. We're okay in the back row. We lose Scott but we get Rochow back who while no superstar is a very effective and dependable club player.

Our priority should be a prop and a halfback and if it's not the club is more f**ked up than I thought.

If ever Stone needed to somehow conjure a major signing now is the time. He needs to back himself and be prepared to release players next season to pay for it if he gets that chance.

Talk in the Parra forum for what its worth is:

Leilua to Raiders
Cornish to Eels
Sandow to Knights

I'm not sure about that, seems a little too convoluted to me. You guys heard anything?

Looked at Walsh? hahahaha FMD it's like they go into the player spreadsheet and just filter on Birthplace "Newcastle".

That just sounds like Eels fans want to get rid of Sandow and replace him with a promising half to me.

Thats the tragedy in this, Stone isnt a cleanskin, he has been in the system since before Bennett, he should know the players, what they are capable of and their weaknesses, pressure points. He should also know whats coming through the lower grades.

He should have know that when he got 2 years, it wasnt a ringing endorsement and he needed to do everything possible to get the team firing, has that been the case.

You just know that Leulia is going to kill it in Canberra, just as he killed it for us when Bennett was coach.

And you know that he will destroy Sione and Uate on July 10th.

Why would BJ kill it long term down there?

BJ seems to be the type that puts in some effort when he gets somewhere, gets comfortable and entitled then puts it in cruise mode. Once the coach or club pull him up on being lazy he then sulks ofF

I can't see this pattern changing under Sticky

I actually think he wants to feel part of something and loved. He did under Bennett.

Rob Dillon wrote an article last week suggesting that the club hadn't really made him feel welcome and he didn't feel like he belonged hence he jumped as soon as he could.

He has unquestioned talent and just needs the right environment.

I think he's the problem tbh. The Roosters got rid of him for his poor attitude and his attitude hasn't seemed to improved in his time here. Showing up for pre season training overweight and out of condition and then assuming that he has a guaranteed spot shows this. Glad to see the back of him.

There seems to be a pattern emerging with him where he thinks the clubs are the bad guys and he's an innocent victim. Chucking a tanty and looking for a new club when you're told your spot isn't secure at the start of the year (especially when you came back from the off season in terrible shape and had an Aussie rep after your spot) is a terrible attitude whatever way you look at it.

I give it to the club over everything but they really haven't done anything wrong here. They've treated BJ very well...too well probably considering the attitude problem.

Everything will be fine and dandy at the Raiders (like it was here) until he's told some home truths he doesn't want to hear and he'll be whinging and wanting out.
