Gordon threatens to leave Panthers

I'd like to see the Panthers keep both Coote and Gordon as they are both super talents and juniors (I think?). They will find it tough though I think. Especially with the Dragons, Bulldogs and Roosters seemingly shopping for a fullback.

But hope they stay in Penrith.

Gordon is a really good player and Panthers would be a whole lot worse off without him, but Coote brings a different type of play to the panthers. At the moment Gordon is by far a superior player but because Coote is a junior I think it is vitally important that the Panthers find a place for him in their side, his support play is wasted on the wing so i'd play him at 5/8. Long term i reckon this will be his best position.

coote at 5/8 will not happen Blake Austin is coming through and right now should start there

Gordon is not being a team player. This has potential to cause the Panthers more then a few problems this season.

Gordon is by far the better player. Origin quality. Coote is nothing.

I agree that Gordon is the better player but lets not forget that Cootes name was also being tossed around for origin when he carried the Panthers almost to the top of the ladder (not saying i agree with it but he is a good player).

The question is whether they are better off with Gordon and fullback and no Coote at all. Or have Coote at fullback and put Gordon at centre where he will still carve up.

I'm still not sure how i feel. Clearly Gordon is a great fullback and he deserves that spot but i'm not sure that is better for the team whilst they have Coote.

Gordon is a gun player and a freak returning the football. He should be playing fullback. Surely he will or a team who are a bit iffy at the back, such as the Dogs, will snap him up instantly.

Tigers have no money at all, no chance in that.

Not true, Tuqiri is off the books next season and he was paid a decent amount. But I will be very surprised if he is able to leave, no way Gus and the Panthers let that happen.

Mate a lot of player's names get tossed around for Origin. Hell some even get to play somehow - Mullen, J. King, Tahu, McManus etc. It's a long list of not so good ideas.

People are to quick to dismiss coote IMO gordon is awesome no doubt but so is coote he is utterly fearless in attacking the highball is awesome at it. (Cant belive the height and hang time he gets for his size) His broken play running is great and defensivly he is pretty solid (saw some great deffensive try savers from him) I dunno I think best result would be keep coote in the #1 and stick Gordon in the Centres and smack his bum for insubordination. :)

gordon tweeted that the article blew it out of proportion. he said he wants to do whats best for the team and he feels he can offer more to the team if he plays another position other than wing which imo is fair enough and good on him. that is all!!

Id love to see penrith keep both
talents like coote and gordon are not common and it would be nice to see them benefit

I like Gordon more than Coote at fullback but its really tight. You cant really go wrong either way. I cant see them keeping both though as it appears they both covet being a first choice fullback

neither of them would IMO make good halves. If i were Clearly id trial Gordon at centre and see how he likes moving a tad closer to the action. If he's any good and is happy to play there, win-win. If not you probably resign yourself to the fact Gordon is gone in 2013

Tahu at his best was without question a SOO level player and i wouldn't be surprised if we see Mullen back there at some point.

Regardless though i was merely reminding the people saying that Gordon is a SOO level player that Coote was recieving similar praise when he was at fullback.

When the Panthers were near the top of the ladder a few years back it was mostly on the back of Coote.

I'm not saying he is on the same level as Gordon i'm merely questioning whether the best option for the team involves dumping Coote altogether (which would pretty much happen to make way for Gordon).

Nice pic of Gordon in today's paper, always refreshing to see player without any shitty looking tatts.

Personally i think they should put Gordon at fullback and use Coote at 5/8 with Walsh at half and give Seijka another year in the 20's and see how it goes from there, but that's just my opinion.
