But offloading Gordon is wrong. Worth a start on the wing or in the centres. Plus obviously can play FB if needed. Plus better converter than Holmes. Hard to say much when we don't know Gotdon's wishes. Seems to me Flanno picks the team on reputation. Barba and Beale ahead of Gordon grrrr.

couple of reasons

Val is the best winger in the team. Why change it when he is killing it there at only 19.
Gordon is better on the wing currently in our team.

Plus I reckon Barba is slowly getting better each week ...not slowly get the same or worse.
A little bit of pure hope on my part has Barba at 1 as well.

I vote Barba as well. Played pretty well last week. Type of game where he would of built some confidence IMO.

Humphrey still a bit small, has 2-3 errors in him a game, isn't making many metres and is sus in defence for mine. He is falling over the line to score regularly though.

Currently:Barba even carrying injury.
Holmes is pretty raw still.
Think he has a few defensive issues as a winger(not that defence is Barba's best weapon).
As fullback have only seen Val in attack really.
Has great potential in that area.
Don't really ever want to see him under defensive pressure because if he is we won't be going real well.

Offloading Gordon we have that position covered, you have Gagan now fit, Wells is there and Feki to come back from injury.

Holmes is a goal kicker.

It would also enable us to have some cap freedom that if wanted we can bring some players up without hitting the cap

Barba I liked how he ran at the centre last week for Holmes try ,Mickey never had that.
Holmes time will come still needs some direction at one but going good on the wing.

Holmes needs another season of development before taking on a critical spine position. He will be very good but needs to get the errors and defensive lapses out of his game.

Barba for mine is the better option at present provided he keeps improving.

Micky G probably should never have got best player last year.

He played crap at the start. Really bad. Then he improved after the horse had bolted. Maybe Mick is one of those players that wants to look good in a beaten team. He lacks real drive I reckon.

Easy to go to parra...take 2 more years in an average side and look good.

Fugg. Uhmm if we are talking attack Val. If we are talking all round experience and nouse Barba. What's worth more to us? Scoring points or keeping them from scoring points. Is Vals poorer defence a greater risk than Bennies shitty attack? Does either organise the defensive line like a really good FB should? Given years of having to rely on forwards to score our points im given it to Val right now.

If Holmes had to have gone back to Townsville, he would look like a world beater on the wing for Cowboys, he is a class player with us, considering we dont have a half back

Barba for now, Holmes is on par though which says a hell of alot about the kid. Plus he's finishing very well, a luxury we haven't had for a looooong time.
