GRAND FINAL: Parramatta v Penrith GAME DAY THREAD at Accor 2/10/22

I'm not all that hopeful. We seem to be a club that accepts upper level mediocrity. Winning a couple more finals games than usual might actually be bad in the long run. There's a leadership and character problem, and a coaching one, that in my mind makes it unlikely we'll win a title. Do the board want the ultimate prize badly enough or is close enough good enough? No way to know for sure but I feel the latter is more likely.

My thoughts are, if we lost to Cowboys in the preliminary final there would be less pressure on BA at the beginning of next season if we lose the first 3 or 4 he won't get shit canned.
But because we made the GF we know we can make it to the last week there will be big expectations by the media so if we go 1-4 he may be in trouble..

Well said, my non-dildo stained friend.

I've been tolerant around rebuild etc since the salary cap, but at all levels the club needs to stand up and be noticed. The shit news articles that came out a few weeks ago bothered me. Who's leaking shit and why isnt the club tighter than nun's nasty?

It's interesting seen some comments that the players didn't look as devastated as previous teams who lose grand finals and did the loss hurt them enough.

Now I didn't watch the post game as I was too devastated to see Penrith carry on and celebrate.

So I can't really judge I assume they are hurting and just didn't want there emotions to boil over on national television as you become memes these days when you cry in public.
Because deep down they expected to lose, hence the lack of disappointment and just happy to have made it PARRAMATTITUDE, pretty sad I reckon but says it all

When I google the board the Eels pages has no names on it are the ghosts?
I'm not sure where you can get their details. Two of them are former bankers, one of them started Centrebet, one has a public sector HR background and the other has some sort of other business background. As I understand, none of them can be removed easily unless they choose to leave.

It's why after 5 mins the line speed and kick chase disappeared up @Gary Gutful's well worn datehole. They didn't believe they could win and they were just happy to be there. Parramattatude indeed.

Unfortunately close enough is good enough for our club. Which really reflects the conments from management of late were they don’t look at 36 years of no trophies but how many times they make the top 8. It’s a tragic loser mentality which is throughout the core of the club. From the juniors right up to management. Have a look at Penrith, enough said.

Apparently they are subject to an annual review. I'm not sure who conducts the review, as their independent of the Leagues Club. The first guy, Skinner, is no longer on the board.
