So we're down to the big one. A lot of big names have come and gone, and we're left with two. Two of the biggest names to have ever graced the world of rock and roll.

In the red corner... a band never particularly loved by the critics, but adored by fans all around the world. A band who dominated the musical scene across three decades, offering everything from straight out hard rock and heavy metal to over the top rock-opera. With such hits as Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, Killer Queen and Fat Bottomed Girls... let's here it for...

Queen

In the blue corner... a band often credited for laying the foundations of modern rock and roll. A band heavily adored by critics and fans alike, sparking a sensation that had conservative parents running for cover as their teenaged daughters went crazy at the sight of the clean cut band. A band who were so masterful they managed to break out of their early style to completely revolutionize their direction. Groundbreaking in every sense of the word, with hits such as Let It Be, Come Together, Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds and Hard Day's Night... let's here it for...

The Beatles

I agree, Queen should never have gotten this far. Good act, but not up there with the likes of the Beatles.

makes you wonder if people are voting for a band they genuinely love or for whichever bands they are supposed to like cos others say so. Not to discredit either band but the beatles had this won before the first round of voting even started.

Queen

I respect what the beatles did and like their music

but if someone handed me two cd's I'd put on the queen one - the best band doesn't have to be my favourite

probably the two most diverse rock groups ever.

The Beatles probably have the edge because they made less mistakes than Queen did (to be fair the Beatles weren't influenced by 80's pop culture)...but then again I'd rather listen to Queens best 25 songs than The Beatles best 25.

My vote goes to Queen because if I had the choice to go to the concert of one of them, it'd be Queen in a heartbeat.

It's funny that this competition's going to go the same way as a massive survey they held in England a couple of years ago where the Beatles, followed by Queen were voted the nations favourite band. Bohemian Rhapsody won the song vote (although the Beatles had about 4 in the top 10).

I don't think the beatles ever had a stand out song, they had so many great songs but none really which stood out like a Bohemiam Rhapsody which has everything from great vocals to great lead etc.
