Cmon man, at some stage of this season every team was a smoky.
Gotta measure it from round 1 if you want bragging rights.
Roosters were never smokies.

Nice avoidance of my original question.

I’ll go one better; what were the Chooks’ position on the ladder AND its premiership odds at the halfway point of the season?

By this stage, many had written it off.

Coughs....smokies!!!

Give me a break. Nobody ever wrote the chooks off! Everyone knew they would be there abouts come the end of the year. Smokies!? You are dreaming Jimmy.
I'll give you credit for calling sharkies a premiership threat early on but you cannot be taking credit for saying Roosters were "smokies".

I had exactly the same impression. Couldn’t of said it any better.

You’ve now avoided my question twice, a career in politics beckons. The Chooks were written off by the bookmakers and experts quite early on.

The game was set up about half way through the season.

With 2 and possibly 3 of arguably the current biggest names in the game retiring, former team mates squaring off, a replay of last year and a chance for 1 to go back-to-back.

I'm going for a Storm win, if only to see the end of the Smith/Slater era.
Problem is if Storm win again the NRL comp will start to look like an uneven playing field again as they proudly boast the Salary cap and the so called evenness of the results are showing. Notwithstanding they have been in the last 3 grand finals..LOL
Even the commentators keep saying every year. This is the most even comp I have ever seen. The NRL cant have negative press.
I reckon the 2 grand finalists of each year should get a surprise visit from the NRL auditors belting down the door one day, saying were taking your computers and books for investigation.Still wont find anything!

BS jimmy the roosters before the season started were favourites or equal favourites before the season started never a Smokey.

Now, words that I never used are...well..being used!

By round six and with the Chooks out of form, its odds had skyrocketed.

Sigh. Post just one link where an 'expert' had written the Roosters off. I'll bet you can't.

So now the burden of proof lies with the defendant?

Good one.

You’re right with one thing: sigh :pensive:

To clarify, as the Chooks’ had an indifferent start to the season, it’s premiership odds also lengthened.

Maybe not astronomically, however, it certainly wasn’t as good as what it has been over the past month or so.

Appears to be a lot of crowd favourites in this game , their fans will be coming out of the woodwork for this G.F. I hear that young Ruldolp Murdoch will be flying out and down to watch the game and shall be attending a TPA bbq afterwards ( whatever the f**k that is ? ) .
