Braith Anasta

Not even time can heal this wound. This should have its own thread as worst ever positional changes.

As an easts fan Mini was amazing to watch at his peak and his injuries cost him being considered amongst the greats. Hard to go past Slater when you consider the longevity as well.

I don't get the Inglis is lazy talk. He does a heck of a lot of work off the ball. He serves as another play maker at Souths, I'd be surprised if any other fullback has more try assists over the last 4 seasons. Even when he doesn't recieve the ball, just his presence attracts defenders giving his teammates less pressure. He is as safe under the high ball as any other fullback, his positioning was rusty early in 2012 but it's now just as good as any other fullback. He has saved more tries then any other fullback over the last 4 years as well. He always brings the ball back strongly on kick returns, regularly beating the first defender and almost always gets a fast play the ball to start the set. It sometimes looks as if he is having a bludge just walking around behind the ruck early in the set, but similar to slater and hayne he is waiting around for any breaks or opportunities from an offload or fast play the ball. He definitely has the best highlight reel (along with hayne) but like hayne, if he hasn't put in a 5 star performance, scored 3 tries and run over 10 blokes he gets accused of being lazy and not putting in.

As it stands, Slater. That could change if Inglis has a good couple of years. If Hayne had have played with a better team and stayed in the NRL, then he might have been. You can't meaningfully compare the old timers with the current crop.

I always thought tim brasher was better then Mullins when i was a kid.

That's an interesting debate
I thin Brasher had a better career as far as consistency goes but Mullins's best was at a level higher than Brasher could get to

The way I'd describe it was Brasher had an entire career full of 8/10 games where his best and worst game weren't that far apart where Mullins had games and periods in his career where he didn't do a lot but he also had a peak of 3-4 years where he was 9.5/10 every week

I agree with others though, I've got good memories of RL going back to about 92, so not THAT long, but Slater is the best fullback in since I've followed RL imo

Billy Slater a better fullback than Darren Lockyer?

Guessing the average age of this forum is 14.

Lockyer was amazing. Like poetry in motion. He's the fullback I always find myself comparing others too, if not in a best or worst sense, but for the pure artistry of it. A bit like the way I compare Mark Waugh with other batsman in regards to style and grace. Slater, Churchill or someone else might be regarded as the best, but I'd watch Lockyer at fullback first just for the sheer beauty of it.
