I'm all of a sudden thinking... bring back the mid week jersey from the 1994 Kangaroo Tour!!!! Love that jersey and it IS, predominately yellow with all the banding around the bottom of the jersey!

The Junior Kangaroos play in a similar design but reversed colours.

I wouldnt mind if they played in that.

After Australia changed to green and gold V, 1963 and 1992 were the only occassions where Australia played completely different jumpers:

In 1963, Australia were forced to change to their old maroon and blue strip shirt, against the South African side who had worn the same colours as the Springboks.

In 1992 they played mid week matches leading up to the World cup final in England, and used a white jumper:

That's the one! I have that exact same jersey although there are few doing the rounds with different/additional badging...

Yeah I had a Big League edition in 1993, and there's a picture of Paul Sironen wearing it against one of the English clubs. I would post it, but cant seem to find that copy.

Something like this is the logical choice for mine, the blue and maroon has had its day. And yes, there will be a clash.

White with a Green and Gold Vee. Use the stripe from the cycling team in the Vee. All good.

Maybe Ireland should worry more about their own jerseys considering the one they are wearing in Philadeplhia has the American flag on it.
Commemorative limited edition jersey for the game.....don't see the problem with it myself.....anything that helps raise funds for the game has to be a good thing.

I love the idea of the junior Kangaroo style jersey (reversed colours, same design). I think we should move on from Maroon and Blue as the ARLC is trying to spread the game nation wide and the Kangaroos need to be seen as a team that the nation can get behind.

I also think the alternate jersey should only be worn when necessary not automatically when the team plays away from home as is becoming the case in the NRL.

Iconic jerseys are a treasure for any sport (Brazil & Argentina in football a good example). An the Australian jersey is one of those for RL and England should revert back to a traditional St George´s cross jersey and stick with it instead of the current ´spray painted on´ cross.

A lot of interesting points in here about different types of potential jerseys for Australia to wear away against Ireland in the world cup. My support is behind the yellow Australia jersey with the green chevrons at the top of this page. Complete opposite to the home jersey yet still keeps the tradition of the most recognisable jersey in Rugby League and the best design sporting jersey in the world.

Other then that I wouldnt mind some thing this:

This is the design for that the Wallabies came up with as a clash jersey for the last Rugby Union World Cup. They had to because there was a potential clash with Romania if Romania made it to the semi's.

So what you are saying is that there was never really a requirement for a clash jersey :D

ireland could/should just use that yellowish one if they can,
but i guess if REAALLLY needed oz can do the invert colour, it might look cool in the wardrobe

Why should Ireland be forced to switch for a home international?

I like that maroon and blue heritage kit; I know it only represents two States, but as a West Aussie it doesn't bother me; and it is an old test jersey anyway

If Ireland wear a proper Irish green like this

Students-Jersey.jpg

There won't be an issue because it will not clash with this

The only problem will be if the morons at RLI, who seem to get a new jersey every year, use dark green. It wouldn't surprise me. They can't get their flag or anthem right so the colour of their jersey is bound to be wrong.
