Gould's record in reality is very poor recently. Yes the Bulldogs are doing well, but that's more to do with Ciraldo than anything else.
Penrith's success is in-spite of Gould and due to getting the right person back in to fix his mess (the same guy Gould sacked). Look at the Dragons, arguably a complete basket case that he did nothing to fix (although others have now got it back on track). He is a pathetic asswipe that takes credit for the work others do and blames others for his failures. As shown he is a liar and a hypocrite

The current beat up on Gus and demeaning his record is a strange one. Every time I’ve heard him speak about his time at Panthers he has always praised everyone else.

Ciraldo was going to another club when Gus snuck under their noses (tigers?)

And he’s built a roster which is well under the cap and coming first which is unheard of

There’s probably nobody that knows more about rugby league

Doesn’t mean signing Galvin won’t implode their season though

Gus was a very handy player

One of the best coaches in history and now an amazing administrator at panthers and dogs

Helped get more funding for the nzrl when he was involved with the warriors

Getting Galvin is a great signing for the long term even if it’s disruptive this year

Gus knows what to say and how to say it so that it sounds the way he wants it to sound to us, but in fact means something else and can be challenged on it and show he's not lying. He's incredibly intelligent in many ways, and this is one of his strongest points.
