Could'nt have said it better!
Hopefully Paine will be back from injury soon.
Regarding Wade I don't really see him as a genuine test player but more a one day player.
Neville hasn't really shown much so far.I actually think he's been out of his depth in the bbl comp but that form of the game is nothing to really go by.

Wade averages over 40 with the bat in 1st class cricket which is solid in any language and has 4 1st class centuries, Paine averages 31 at 1st class level and has only a solitary 1st class century in 84 innings which isn't quite poor.
Wade is a sensational limited overs batsman (Gilchrist level on his day) but his numbers at 1st class level don't lie either and he's also 3 years younger than Paine

Shaun Marsh is someone who hasn't realised his obvious potential in my opinion. We have seen glimpses, though his best cricket is ahead of him. I hope selectors persist with him, I think we will all be rewarded if we do.
Yeh but how long do we wait? He's been on the scene for a good 10 or 11 years now and he's at an age where he should be in his prime and still hasn't shown he can be consistent. If a player has been inconsistent for his entire career chances are that's just how it's going to be.

Agree completely. I have no idea why so many people expect a guy that has been only average at first class level for some time to suddenly become a world-beater at Test level.

Wade sh*ts over Paine. Though I can see Haddin blocking him for another 2 seasons because he and your selectors are wankers.

Well it wasn't hard for Gilchrist to surpass Parore as a keeper from 02 onwards since Parore retired in 02 :lol:. Once again I will reiterate, I never said Parore was a better player than Gilchrist just in case anyone hasn't quite grasped that yet!

Doesn't matter if Parore retired, points stands that Gilly became a better keeper and batsman than Parore was. I reiterate; a better keeper than Parore could ever be.

Disagree. I'd say that maybe in the years afterwards Gilchrist became a keeper at a about the same level Parore was. I'm astounded as to why batting keeps bein brought up? Do you actually think I was trying to say Parore was a better batsman than Gilchrist!??

If Parore were Australian he would have never made any shield te bar Tasmania

Even Kiwis will forget him in 20 years.

Haddin was good in the first innings. I will update for you spot on.

Byes: 2

Catches: 2

Dropped catches: 0

No fun if you're only going to post the negatives.

Probably not at this rate. I've seen an Australian team collapse from strong positions before as we all have over the last two years. Let's try not to jinx it.

i like haddin and hope he does well - quite happy to eat humble pie my friend.

his recent form has been poorand i do believe he is lucky to be there.

Agree (see earlier posts re: my position on Haddin). We don't agree on death riding our sportsmen and women it seems.

Enjoy day two. Ignore this thread until at least day three late afternoon (touch wood).
