Izzy won't play fullback...might be trialled there but come round 1 Hayne and Izzy (if he signs) will be in their strongest positions

Izzy has lost a lot of weight but is super fit, very fast and amazing under the high ball. I reckon fullback is his best position in 2013.

As for Hayne, Stuart has gone on record saying that five eight could be his best position.

So while they may not start this way, I think they will end up that way. FYI, I really rate Kelly as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if izzy is on the wing. But I can't see him having any trouble putting in the weight needed to be in the centres again.

Time will tell. I hope hayne isn't at 6 because I can't see he and sandow combining well. Could clash IMO. But then again they could be great. I think Kelly is the main man for us in terms of organisation. Sandow and hayne will fill the other role be it halfback for sandow or five eight for hayne.

I think at least a few have emerged in the last few years (Johnsons, Cherry-Evans, Foran, Reynolds), before that there'd barely been anything of real quality since Thurston and Marshall in the early-mid 00's.

Cronk I guess, but otherwise it's all been good average club players like Pearce but nothing of real class

To an extent I agree with Foran & DCE which is why I rated their pairing alongside Melbourne's but even they could go backwards and end up back in the pile.

Johnson could go either way, has the skills to be rated alongside the best, just needs to find consistensy on the field. I don't rate either Reynolds that highly.

Izzy isn't "very fast" and he never has been, he uses his size to either run straight through, or jump over the defends, sure, he isn't slow, but definitely not fast.

And how can you say that fullback is his best position when he has never player a game there? He should start on the wing, eventually moving to the centres if he can out on some size.

I agree with your point but he played there during the 2010 All-Stars game and in the trials that season.

Warriors - bit higher, both very good when at top of their game
Eels - could i get your opinion on a Kelly/Sandow pairing i think they will be our halves
Melbourne - 10/10 re: Grand Final

Agree about the Warriors. They could be bumped up into the 7s.

Kelly could play 5/8, Sandow at half, leave Hayne at fullback, and put Izzy in the centres. It all comes down to what Ricky wants, and even though he was a halve in his day, his halves choices in his coaching career have been bizarre sometimes. But Kelly would be solid at 5/8 in my opinion.

In my opinion, Thomas Leuluai is an upgrade on Maloney, as far as the Warriors' needs go. He's a defensive juggernaut, intelligent footballer with a solid skillset and mass experience in club and international footy. I predict he will rate in the NRL's top 5 stand-offs by year end.

Never would have seen it coming myself

Carney and Pearce, yep, up there with the best as a combination.

Pearce and Maloney? Middle of the pack (pardon the expression) in all honesty.
Except both go missing in pressure situations. Carney is a great player from in front, from behind not so much.

Pearce well he's consistent, I'll give him that. Certainly not worthy of an automatic pick like he seems to be in origin though.

I'm glad Fien is in our halves. He has tattoos. Was always disappointed with the lack of tattoos between Soward and Hornby. Maybe Sowie can get a neck tatt and mean haircut, then we'd be Premiership contenders for sure.

Probably needs a sleeve tat. That has always worked remarkably well for Carney in big games

Hi 2012.....Sharks Year,

Thanks for pointing that out. I'm modest and don't really like to bring up the Premiership we won in every post. But yes, Ben Creagh can tell you where it is. Brett Morris also. I've attached the picture. It's a Premiership tattoo on Soward's bicep.

Also, there is a thread where the moderators can change your name for you. It would be wise and productive of you to bookmark it, as you will have to get it changed each year.

No need to be modest Fire....I bet you were very relieved when your beloved dragons won their first comp in over thirty years. Just as relieved as I would be if the sharks won their first comp in over forty years. As far as the name goes I appreciate your advice on the name change but i'll be sticking with 2012 as it was the year we finally secured our future without having to lose our identity or re-locate etc. As usual I'm looking forward to renewing our rivalry next year.....nothing better than the local derby between Saints and Sharks. By the way how's your team building for next year......is captain pants down attracting some new faces to replace what you've lost ?

That's understandable re: keeping the year 2012. Yep the derbies are awesome. Captain Pants Down has recruited well, but I'm only quietly confident. But boy, isn't all the pressure on you guys next year. 2013-2014 is your shot. Gal's not getting any younger, and everyone else will be getting past their prime. Two years for you guys I reckon, I hope you well.
