I think a public holiday should be on a Monday so its a long weekend. Maybe make it the last weekend of Summer.

It used to be like that some time ago. Always seemed to fall on my birthday. Even used to think that all the parties were for me.

If the date is to change it has to be at the request of the Aboriginal people only, not those with an arts degree. You only need to watch a video of them at the protest struggling to understand why they are even there. If it changes, I'm grown up enough (I think) to understand why, it's not hard to listen.

An option (for whatever day it is) is to commemorate the day as we do Anzac Day and Easter.....Lament and Celebrate. At the start of these days people will remember and mourn and later on celebrate together. I think any mature person can put aside some time to learn and listen and also come together to celebrate moving forward together.

That will be an issue for some unfortunately.
