both players were trained, coached, taught, counselled, seminars, done trained courses on this by the CLUB, THE NRL, ASSADA , PLAYERS group, and the bottom end tip still wont learn, amazing really . everyone involved might say they be lucky, nothing happened beyond what did , really lucky ;)

They shouldn't need to do a course to know that rooting a schoolgirl in your hotel on a weekend away is morally wrong.

Fox sports have reported that the players met the girls initially during a team school visit, to me that's where the line has been crossed from the NRL's point of view as they are representing the NRL on these visits

That’s the only inappropriate action I can see based on the information available. Participating in official team duties and going around the corner for some kissy kissy.

Inappropriate, but no complaints nor illegality according to NRL360 (yet they were acting like it was so disgraceful). No illegality means girls must’ve been at least 16yo.

People acting like it’s so bad for these “men” to get with these girls, remember these guys are in their early 20s. Not exactly cradle robbers.

It’s a bad look and they should be punished, however a guy actually facing a indecent assault charge can play, so too a guy that allegedly assaulted a cop or cops. I know what’s worse, an actual crime or alleged crime.

Why? If she’s consenting and of legal age, what’s the issue? Btw, there has been no mention of “rooting”.

These guys are barely out of school and LU is suddenly the old prude home lmao.

NRL: We welcome men, women, children, gay, indigenous but getting it on with someone of the opposite sex is just not on.

Like I said, if it was at some official thing, then fine, punish them, if not, there’s two way worse things let go just in the last offseason.

What's worse is being found not guilty of DV.
That's a 10 week sit down, according to Dear Leader.

If you're referring to Sivo, he was charged with indecent assault (under Fijian law), not sexual assault.

Still f**king stupid on his part, though.

My mistake. I thought indecent assault was the same. I’ll edit it.

Fijian law describes several “indecent” offences.

I think Sivo is facing this charge....

From http://www.vertic.org/media/National Legislation/Fiji/FJ_Penal_Code.pdf

“Indecently insulting or annoying females
(4) Whoever, intending to insult the modesty of any woman or girl, utters any word, makes any sound or gesture, or exhibits any object, intending that such word or sound shall be heard, or that such gesture or object shall be seen, by such woman or girl, or whoever intrudes upon the privacy of a woman or girl by doing an act of a nature likely to offend her modesty, is guilty of a misdemeanour, and is liable to imprisonment for one year. (Amended by 11 of 1948, s. 2, and by 21 of 1950, s. 3.).”

From memory of the initial reporting of the incident this rule of law seems to fit.

It’s not that serious if it was a woman of legal age, but in the context of my point that he shouldn’t be playing until the case is heard, and considering if found guilty he’s liable to be imprisoned for 1 year, it is easily serious enough to be worse than what these Bulldogs players have allegedly done, yet they’re suspended.

Toddy rolls a 2, best two out of three he says!

Imagine if you were running the game.... There wouldn't be a game in a few weeks...

“Canterbury stars Jayden Okunbor and Corey Harawira-Naera have been suspended indefinitely for having consensual sex with high school girls during the club’s trip to Port Macquarie.”
...

“While neither player is the subject of a criminal investigation, the club is treating the matter very seriously. The allegations are that each player engaged in behaviour that represents a serious breach of the NRL rules and the Bulldogs’ code of conduct, resulting in the NRL notice.

“The club supports the NRL’s decision to issue the breach notices and will continue to work with the NRL to conclude the process. Both players have an opportunity to respond to the matters alleged in the breach notice before any final decision is made.”

Understand it’s not a criminal breach but darn poor effort. You don’t go into a school for a work visit whether you are a tradie, football player, etc. pick up students and root them later - it’s just dumb and does not reflect well on your employer who you represent at all. By all means, go to a club and all and root all you want but going to a school and pickup up a quick root is pretty wrong. In first year uni my mate worked at a janitor at a school and whilst only a bit older than some of the girls, they gave him their number and all and he was wise enough to bin them with the rubbish.

All well & good to argue that no laws have been broken(based on what has been reported) but that’s because there’s no charge, to my knowledge, for sheer stupidity. Anyone arguing that the players are in their early 20’s(therefore somehow absolved of responsibility to others welfare) to me, miss a few points:
1)The NRL/clubs provide education for players to avoid this
2)I can’t see how these players would deem it appropriate if it was their teammates & the girls were their sisters
3)If it’s found it was consensual contact, doesn’t it cross the players mind how bad it would look if(& it often does)become public knowledge. Schoolgirls FFS.

dude serious? If you don’t think there’s anything wrong with this then your moral compass is way off.

It’s not like they went to a club/pub met two 18 year old women and then took them back to their own homes for consensual sex. They were on a organised trip away as professionals representing their clubs and the game in the local community and they think it was okay to pick up two chicks from a fkn school visit and take them back to their hotel room??? Even taking sex out of the equation completely and it’s still a 99/100 on the idiot scale.

NRL footballers whether it be true in the most part or not have a reputation of being Neanderthals and shit like this doesn’t help in the slightest.

I agree with you to a degree on the Curtis Scott situation his charges seem extreme but he has pled not guilty and max jail time is only 5 years so doesn’t come under the policy. In saying that if his situation had of popped up 2 days before the start of the season there is no way he would be playing this weekend either.
