I think you will find it was an opinion of who might play nrl not when they will play nrl and everett will have to make it to the fulltime squad soon cause time is running out will have to play better than last year otherwise windsor is looking good for 2011

I thought Evrett was excellent in the 20's last year before his season ending injury.

Pretty hard to pick one but if i had to it would be bryce cartwright from the matts and tom eisunhuth, john faimu, robbie mate, blake south and possibly vaipuna tiakilifi from the ball age but my pick for a nrl debut next year would be blake austin barring injury..whats your opinion?
I noticed on the ourfooty.com website blake austin was named at lock for their nsw schoolboys side. Another notable player Pj asiata who is a penrith jnr was also named in the side. Shame penrith couldnt do the right thing to keep him. I can tell you he didnt leave for money. This was in the mullholland days. Speaking of mullholland, for everyone that likes him there is just as many that dont. And then there are the ones that are just too busy kissing butt.

As far as i know pj went to patties blacktown got a letter from penrith but opted to play at parra with mates from school so as far as letting him go not the case....and in regards to everett yeah my point exactly didnt play more than three games last year so he has to prove himself this year and by all reports hasnt started full training as yet because of injury..

Yes he is with a few other players from last years Matts squad. They will have a tough time making the final squad as the roosters team is jam packed full of contracted talent already.
And these dopes could of played for the academy this year and then penrith the following year when are they going to start showing loyalty instead of dollar signs the way it used to be you worked hard and played good footy and then you were chosen not i want this because ive done this wake up because the wayne bennetts of the world see right through it.......

To be fair none of these players were chosen in the ball squad which includes those that will play academy this year. Therefore at best they would play development. Also none have been signed by Roosters they are trialling for a position hence I said they will have an uphill battle with the talent the roosters have on contract. Do think that the selectors could have chosen a few of those that have left with an eye on academy and then 2011 Ball team. That 2011 Ball team will now be very week with the amount of players who have left. Loyalty is a two way street.

Halfback, i am very surprised that Penrith in their wisdom have allowed last years matts team to disintegrate. Players like Antonelli, matts player of the year told he was too small, gone. Tai, it was decided he was a loose cannon, gone. Tavalle, awarded most improved, gone. johnny Taps? gone? Vave? gone? Hetrick cant get a start in any game? With hetrick he was run out for the seconds side against the Maories, carved them up for 15mins, scored a couple and was replaced never to be seen in the either game since??????? a school mate of his told me he has continued to train at all Penrith(named in 17 development) training sessions, but is not sure whether he will get on the field in any game soon, if this is true, they are up themselves Penrith, no wonder the 2011 sg squad looks vey ordinary indeed.

Im fairly sure Vave , tapuaga and hetrick are all training with the 17s side.
As for players which have left the club in that age, players such as Misivic were totally left out of the 17s squad after playing Matts last year, now is that loyalty on Penrith's behalf?

Sorry to dissapoint you halfback but there are three players trialling with penrith ball hence the word trialling wilson played for state side was rewarded with a trial chance, satini u16s player of the comp rewarded with a trial chance, reece regan played an sgball game against titans and was outstanding scoring a try and rewarded with a trial spot i agree that tia and jason should be there but tai discipline was his problem still walking around like he is better than jonathon taefu and jason may of suffered because of size which is wrong if your good enuf your big enuf but my point is the three trialling could all end up in academy anyway and maybe penrith were waiting to see how many of the right age players would refuse to go back to academy then year younger blokes get there chance

also there are only 31 players trialling and they will keep 24 so seven will go back to academy which means they will be short 5players for the academy because they take 12 from penrith 12 from parra and thats if they all go back that means 5spots or more 1Tai2Jason3Vave4Heterick5.Clay6.Taavale so to me its just impatience and big heads

Again the problem here is that loyaty is a two way street. The likes of Antonelli, Hetrick, Tai desrved to be in the train on squad regardless of there size etc. They should have been given the opportunity to impress in the upcoming trials like the others if they werent up to it then so be it. To possibly bring them in after others have knocked it back is a massive slap in the face for all and not showing loyalty to them at all. I am aware of the three that were chosen as your response was refering to those that are now at Roosters, and there is still no gaurantee any of those players would make the academy team if others had withdrawn so nothing to be loyal to. Again Penrith have made poor decisions with their juniors when putting these players in the original squad would ensure the loyalty is shown and recieved, whether they made the final squad or not they would have still be in Penrith in 2010.

correct halfback, i agree totally. These three especially should have been added and looked after, and then sent to academy if that was the right thing to do.Tai would still be under the penrith umbrella and training, antonelli should still be at penrith, hetrik, i am told is still training hard and shown loyalty to penrith, but cant get on the field? two of the boys that train with hetrik said he weighs in at 92 kg and nearly 2m tall now and all muscle, must be doing his own work, penrith should look after him, at least he is loyal. If not i could get him a start at norths or tigers without a doubt.

A little off topic but I heard these two teams played a trial before christmas any idea who won?
Tigers easily, tigers have best squad for years, very strong forward depth but could use a little more depth in the outside backs, that is why hetrik would be good for them, and i think he was around top point scorer in matts until he did his ankle in the last round agaist bulldogs.

So tigers won easily in both Matts and Ball?

I think you have a great point in regards to loyalty but your missing my point penrith are showing loyalty to the players that are the right age and you seem to forget that these 18yolds ran second in the matts and the academy side won 7 out of 11 games the same year missing out on semis on points for and against so i think the under age guys should of realised the sheer talent above them and been patient cause now they are no chance of making penrith in the future..

I do see your point and those chosen deserve there spots although to include the other names mentioned only increases the squad to around 35. Most other teams have squads of those numbers and dont have academy to fall back on. It would provide the loyalty, show them they are important in the set-up, keep them at the club and help them progress with a mind to 2011. The thing to consider also and the whole job of junior reps is to produce first graders. Realistically only of the top 5 in each age group would stand much chance of acheiving this. of that 2011 group they now have nothing after the top 3. Just think a litle forward thinking by accomodating the players mentioned in an extended squad (no bigger than other clubs) and no bigger than is needed for Penrith and SWAS would have made smart business.

Could not agree more
