St George Illawarra Dragons second-rower Bronson Harrison is optimistic in his outlook for next season’s campaign involving his new teammates.
The New Zealand international, who joined the Red-and-Whites from the Canberra Raiders during, has enjoyed the transition and believes fresh ideas and new cohorts will help improve his game.

Harrison is focusing on preparing his body but has his eye on a starting position when the 2013 NRL season kicks off in March.
“I can’t wait for the start of the season; I’m excited to start playing for a new club,” said Harrison.
“The pre-season has been great with a new team and different training schedules which has been providing me with variety.
“I’m starting to get to know all the boys as well as the coaching staff and learning the drills and structure of the Club.
“Everyone has been taking good care of me and made me feel very welcome.
“I’ve been picking up things here and there from the senior players so hopefully I can incorporate it into my game.
“I need to keep working hard and adapt to the new surroundings but the goal remains to be part of the starting team.
“Every player aims for that no matter what the team so I just have to keep pushing myself.”

I like this guy ,he sounds genuinely excited to play for us.He also responded to the many wellwishers on twitter when he signed.
Hope he has a big season and is injury free.

there is no reason he can't be as good if not better than Beau Scott on the right side. He hits the line harder, has a better offload in traffic and good second phase and he's a try scorer. Scott's attack was rubbish, he hit the line soft, has little or no second phase and had a crap passing game. It was all about defence with Scott. If Harrison can get his defence sound, he can be one of the best back rowers in the comp.

He'll fail. Its Dousts fault. We're doomed.

I can't believe this guy has the hide to look forward to next season.

He certainly comes across as level headed and well spoken. Has always had wraps on him, hope he excels with us. He can be real damaging...

Hmmm, so we have become Canberra's recycling depot. We get thrown the usual "excited to be here, blah blah", but can this guy still perform on the field? If so, surely he would still be with the Raiders. Hope he is not quite the TKO miller was.

Big difference OT. I get your argument, but Miller, God love him was a battering ram. The other is and has shown skills beyond just hitting the line and is an international. He has a step, pass and hits hard in defence. If fully fit he will be an assett.

He had a bad season, was injured a lot, fell out of favour and then had to contend with Fensom (star), Papalii (SOO next year), and Thompson (future captain). He was on good money and they needed to free up space. He was the unlucky one to go. Yeah for us.

Typical nonsense. If you really are an Old Timer you'd have seen countless players switch clubs and improve, purely due to the new challenges and new environment. Weyman and Costigan are two prime examples from Canberra alone. Saints have been quite good at mining these types over the years, notwithstanding the odd misstep from time to time, and Harrison can easily be another success story.

btw, watching the video on dragons.com.au - does anyone else think Tyson Frizell reminds them of Avon Barksdale from The Wire??

I don't know, OT has a point. I had no idea who Josh Miller was but it seemed like in the off season last year that many in here were raving about his ability as a tough nut and someone we needed. That didn't turn out so well. In saying that, Harrison seems like he offers so much more that Josh Miller. But still, you can't blame OT for asking the question.

Well Godz Illa in my day it was not all that common for players to switch clubs. First there was the district tribal loyalty thing, plus transfer fees were applicable to those who did switch. I cannot for the life of me remember when transfer fee's were abolished. Around the 60's I think.

Most of our recruits were from either our local juniors, queenslanders, or from the bush. I am racking my brains to recall players that came to us from other clubs and did well. Harry Bath from Balmain via the UK, Johnny Raper and Poppa Clay both Newtown juniors, about it for the 50's I think. In the 60 we got Roy Ferguson from Wests. In the 70, Steve Gearin, and Mick Potter. But surely there are others methinks. But all of the previous were good payers when they came to us. Bare in mind unlike today, our club attracted quality players at the start of their careers. It was considered a privilege to play for St George.

As you know Frank Facer was a master at recruitment, retention and knowing when to let a player move on. Many of our leading players (Bobby Budgen, Kevin Ryan, Brian Graham, Monty Porter, et al) went on to play leading roles with other clubs in the twilight of their careers.

As for the modern era, I dunno. My roots are in the past, but my love for St George lingers on.

You're no OT.
Look at the time of your post!
8:24pm.

If you really were an OT, you would be in bed already!!
;-)

But to be serious.
Ok. It's a good post.
And I'll believe you really are an Old Timer.

But are you really in a nursing home??
cheers hod.
