Hate to say I told you so, but...

The worst part of the Blair signing is the depth the Tigers have sacrificed.

Gibbs and Fifita were very popular and bringing in Blair has meant the Tigers have burnt alot of cap space. His import was highly unpopular and it seems to have weakened their pack and pissed everyone else off.

The Tigers seem rather disjointed at the moment. That's not to belittle the effort by their opposition tonight, but the whole Tigers outfit looked lost.

For 20 minutes tonight they didn't pass more than once per tackle other than on the fifth. Now I know they were coming off their defensive line and safety first etc, but there has to be a time when you pass if one out running fails repeatedly. They were just not looking for any gaps or space for their forwards to run into.

That might be down to a lack of Farah, but surely there must be more than two players in a team that can pass? Canberra seemed to manage to string passes together really well tonight and the number of line breaks showed what a little invention can do for an attack. The Tigers had none at all.

I go for the Storm, and as I kept saying, Blair is inconsistent, I was glad he left. I watched every Storm match on internet or TV last year.

and the similarity to Bill Belichik and New England Patriots is kinda remarkable. The only thing the Storm havent got under Bellamy's reign when comparing them to the Foxborough boys are 'legitimate' premierships.

when have the patriots won a "legitmate" championship?

I have never heard Blair labelled best forward. Biggest grub definately, but never best forward in the world.

M Scott, P Gallen, C Smith, but never Blair.

I've heard it from thick headed commentators and journalists. Regardless, from what was reported last year his price tag was bigger than any other forward in the world.

Yeah...Orford won the Dally M at Manly. Crazy I know. Steve Bell also played pretty well - but he was always consistent anyways.

Maloney was not a regular first grader but clearly he's gone onto better things. Nathan Friend was one of the best bench players in the league before he went to the Tits and played great - but don't think he was any better..just got more minutes.

Apart from that...

Ben Cross: no
Crocker: no
Folau: no
Inglis: no
Turner: no
Tagatese: no
Jeremy Smith: no
Brett White: no
Blair: no
Webster: no
Tomane: no
Champion: not likely tool
The list goes on and on and on...

Jeremy smith went well for dragons
Izzy went well for broncos
Crocker is finally coming good for souths after injuries
Inglis will get better

Had high hopes for Blair and supported his signing (still do) but he has been poor so far.

I do think he would be much better served with a structured game plan, however.

I never liked the signing and probably never will.

We'd have been better off throwing big $ at getting f**king Te'o back than signing this log.

Our worst signing ever, even worse than Ryan O'Hara. I'd like to kick whoever made the decision to sign Blair right in the jatz crackers.

You wonder why no one shed a tear when he left? Our pack is actually playing alot better without him, says it all. Proctor is 10 times the player Blair is.

Thanks for those 2.

In understand Wayne Bennett's desire to not overpay props. We lost 2 pretty good ones in Snowden / Douglas but have freed up heaps of salary cap to improve forward depth.

You alluded to the fact that the Patriots have won legitimate titles under Belichick, which most fans of the NFL would argue with........

unfortunately, they still stand.

the similarities are there though. The Belichick & Bellamy systems, the turnover of players, the competitiveness, the attempt to gain advantage in any way - Bellamy with suspect tacking moves, Belichik with spygate and everything else, etc.

Yeah I agree with you, but what I would have said originally if I was you-

'but unlike Melbourne, the Foxborough boys got to keep their dodgy titles'

Apologies about being pedantic mate.

Another $20,000 for 5 hit ups in 80 mins....wow.
