Have the Tigers convinced Moltzen to stay? Release sought from his Saints contract

+1 million. great talent, never came across as a dickhead. Hope if nothing else the surgery allows him to live a relatively normal life

also mitch brown >>>> moltzen

It's such a massive shame about Dwyer, a terrific player and I was really hoping he'd crack the Blues side this year. Can be a bloody cruel game sometimes

Very cruel. I live in hope that after the Tuiaki ankle break saga this one will turn out for the best with Dwyer regaining both his health first and foremost and then his career.

I'd wish the same on players at other clubs in this situation.

fmd you're a simpleton. List the Origin & International premiership winners in the Broncos of '08 who turned into absolute strugglers post-Bennett.

Broncos actually had some talent...how long til Soward gets dropped for the likes of Ben Rogers again :sarcasm:

Butthurt from the 32-8 :sarcasm:

Soward was returning from a knee injury when supercoach Brown chose Rogers

It is the insult that will anger every Dragons fan - but Tim Moltzen won't buckle.

Moltzen's manager Martin Tauber yesterday claimed that it would be "crazy and intolerable" for the NRL to force the Wests Tigers utility to play for St George Illawarra next season.

After receiving additional information from both clubs at 4pm on Wednesday, NRL salary cap auditor Ian Schubert continues to investigate the fact Moltzen has signed contracts with both clubs.

Schubert is the man who will recommend where Moltzen plays next season, and he will announce his decision within days, possibly even today.

Tauber has told The Daily Telegraph that his client does not want to represent the famous Red V for the next three seasons. After being in constant contact with his client, Tauber said: "Tim is anxious about this. He is a young man, he's only 22, and he is concerned about his playing future. He wants to stay at Wests Tigers, without question. He has a lot of friends there. Hopefully they (NRL) take the kid's wishes into consideration."

Asked what Moltzen's reaction would be if he was pushed to the Dragons, Tauber said: "That would be crazy. Intolerable. If it is Wests Tigers, then it's done and dusted. If it's St George Illawarra, then that is something we will have to consider, maybe an appeal.

"There's nothing more to say. We will just have to wait and see."

Saints officials privately question Tauber's comments because the accredited player manager guided his client to Saints in July. The NRL is saying little until Schubert announces his recommendation.

Dragons chief executive Peter Doust was not commenting yesterday, while Wests Tigers CEO Stephen Humphreys did not return calls.

Former greats from both clubs have very contrasting views.

"He (Moltzen) signed the piece of paper, no one forced him to," former Saints grand final forward Brad Mackay said. "For a time there, he wanted to play for the Dragons, then all of a sudden Wests Tigers want him back. He should honour his contract and play with the Dragons. If it's on compassionate grounds, that's different. But he shouldn't be allowed to walk away just because he changes his mind. The Dragons could use him. He's a good player."

Ex-Tigers champion Ben Elias fired back. "I have a high regard for Peter Doust and his operations but why would you want a player who doesn't want to be at your club?" Elias said. "You can't get value from someone who wants to be elsewhere. Tim's heart is at the Tigers and that's where he is happy."

if moltzen gets his way, the nrl player transfer system will be a complete mockery, not just the joke that it currently is.

Moltzen reminds me of my young bloke when he was 5 & so looking forward to starting 'big school' until the time came, then chucked the biggest wobbly coz it was so daunting & he didn't know anyone. All Timmy needs is for Mr Price to introduce him to a couple of the others in his grade, encouragement to get out there & run around with the other boys, and he'll be right. Just give it a week & he'll be going home full of exciting tales about his day.

Is he worth all the fuss??? We are talking about a meat and potato nrl first grader not a super star.

From a morale point of view he should stop the dummy spit and move to the gong but I think he will end up at the tigers and than will be spending plenty of time and money talking to lawyers. Where I dont see the Tigers having any worries of facing litigation if they get the call, I do see Moltzen and his management having a problem

he isnt worth the fuss, however as someone else stated if they let this one go, then they may as well just open the floodgates and finally declare contracts are worthless.

the agent has shown he's as useless as all player agents, stating initially he negotiated the deal and now saying they shouldnt make moltzen go.....

I personally dont think he'll end up at the dragons, they really wont want a player who doesnt want to eb there, but they can argue righfully that given they're recruitment of moltzen, they stopped chasing other players and will want some compensation to not fight this.

FFS, p*ss the little turd off. If he doesn't want to leave the Tiges, let him stay there. We've got plenty of options for fullback anyway. Sick of this whole painful saga

Shows contracts are a mockery. If he doesn't want to play for the Dragons then it shows his values are low after agreeing to play for them. Let him stay at the Tigers. Better still it would be better if the NRL had some balls and made him an example - no NRL football for one season.

Fully agree. We've players aplenty with pride in the Red V. Don't want him.

Add some extra spice to the next Dragons vs Magpigers clash. Reckon limp lettuce Moltzen will have a target on his chest.

I don't care if it disadvantages us for a season until we get back out on the market for someone better from 2013... Don't want the f*ckhead AT ALL....

I hope the Dragons get him and put him in NSW Cup all year on the bench

Put him at #18 on the team sheet every week.

Get the weak prick a job as a jizz mopper / glass polisher in the $2 dollar peep show booths in the cross.
