WTF did Maxwell allow Jamie Buhrer to tell him what to do? He is a disgrace. Even DCE didn't know what it was for.

But Hayne has to have the worst Captain's approach to refs I've ever seen. He guarantees that we will be done no favours.

Maxwell following Buhrer's orders? Why?

Buhrer, Hasson, Watmough and Lyon all had a crack at the ref on the DCE high tackle in goal.
The Manly players are constantly in the refs ear and nothing will change until one of them is binned.

I must admit that really annoyed me too, it looked like they bullied the ref into making a decision. Which also says something about the ability of said Referee.

That's exactly what happened. Maxwell should be dropped for that. Not a good look. Manly were refereeing the game at the end.

Referees need to grow some balls and just tell the players to f**k off a decision has been made and that is that.

Not sure about the rule change where the ref can call the captain out and give him a lecture after a couple of penalties several times a game yet if the captain says anything in response the ref completely blows it off and runs off to restart the game while the captain has to sprint back into position.

Yet Maxwell still decided to stop and listen to refereeing advice from Manly players at the end.

Maxwell needs a few weeks in reserve grade, disgraceful reffing today.

I'd love them to bring in a refs press conference after the games, shouldn't they be asked why did you come up with so and so decision? Instead they run up the tunnel never to be heard until next round...

It would just be one big whinge session though. Teams win 50 and fans claim they were dudded.

Parra were the better side, but goal kicking is what lost that match.

At a time where the standard of refereeing is at a pretty low level, Jared Maxwell has out done himself to be consistently the worst ref going around year after year. The bloke is an absolute abomination of a 1st grade ref yet still manages to keep his job year in year out.

Maxwell was disgraceful today and robbed Parramatta. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just taking the piss.

Chris Ward the video ref deserves some serious questioning.

Kidding himself that the Radradra high tackle was a reportable offence. Of course as the rules state if the foul play isn't worthy of being put on report then the Video ref can have no say in it which should've been the case. We'll see another 1,000 high tackles as soft as that one not even penalised before we see another one put on report.

It was just a blatant bending of the rules at his own discretion.

The Glenn Stewart one was even softer

Hayne was correct even though he is a shit captain. Refs were terrible, penalise Parra for playing the ball sideways but not Manly? They playing with two sets of rules?

Manly spoiling tactics are becoming as old and boring as their players.
Every team that plays Manly needs their captain to start whinging like Jamie Lyon.
4 weeks for Stewarts head high tackle on Moimoi or the game is not serious about concussion and high tackles.
He left the ground and went for his head.
The refs should be forced to crack down on spoiling tactics before more fans leave the game. 14 thousand at a Sydney blockbuster is now becoming a bit of a Sydney joke.

Didn't the NRL bring in new rules specifically against players - even the captain - talking to referees this year?

IMO they should not leave it to the referee to just try and earn respect on the day. There should be set rules and punishments set out for players that approach referees during a match. I mean stuff like monetary fines and possible match suspensions for repeat offenders.

4 players charging at a ref and yelling at him about a decision simply should not be allowed to occur. If each of the dickheads at Manly who did this every week were fined $10K a piece they'd soon shut up

If the fat sook didn't want a rest, it wouldn't have even been a penalty. Quite possibly the softest high tackle penalty ever awarded.

Referees are disgraceful, good thing we're talking about a topic that doesn't come up too often.
