Some of the replies to my comments in this thread remind me of things that come out of a gaping anus, definitely...

We need that pile of poo emoji on these new forums!

Jarryd Hayne will meet with his manager this week to run through the options for his future and create a short list.

He will then decide whether he will make an NRL return this year or prepare for the pre-season.

Barring his old club Parramatta, the Gold Coast are the first club to publicly declare they are in the hunt for Hayne, while another four NRL clubs have also expressed interest in the two-time Dally M Medal winner.

While no formal offers have been tabled, Market Watch understands Hayne will cherry pick the clubs he’s interested in speaking with before his management asks for an official offer to be lodged.

But he well and truly screwed himself over by representing Fiji in that cameo in the UK as now he cannot represent the Wallabies.

Sees the ARU are willing to top him up even though he can't play for the wallabies based on the commercial opportunities and revenue he'll bring to the sport

Yeah, surprised the eligibility works like that... I'd thought they'd loosened it somewhat in order to get maximum eligibility for Rugby 7s in the Rio Olympics?

Hayne will go wherever his new girlfriend tells him to go. Get used to it Jarryd. You need to listen to her instead of God now.

And not so secret if we could see it coming back in October 2014 :p

I'm a little confused though, is he supposed to announce to the media when he is going to meet with any club, no matter what code it is?

What do the media want? Why is it a secret meeting? Did he have fake glasses and a moustache?

Also, didn't you say French or Japanese rugby is where he would be going?

Hayne won't go to Yawnion if he can't play for the Wannabes.
I suspect Hayne won't go to union if he can't earn the same $ as if he was playing for the Wallabies... hence Gould's recent comment that Hayne would be playing 12 months a year, but not in the NRL? And hence the interest in a Japanese rugby season complementing his Super 15 season.

$$$$$ and branding...

Jarryd or his manager are very adept at playing the media through strategic leaking. Not saying the union meeting was leaked, but my point is Hayne and his manager usually "control" the messages that get out in the media quite well - e.g. leaking who might be interested to keep Hayne's name in the papers - and hence mainatin his bargaining price.

Yes I did. Looks like he'sll end up in Japanese rugby, and supplement that with an Australian doemstic rugby season - which handily helps keep his brand recognition going here (unlike Craig Wing, who disappeared to Japanese rugby and we never heard of him again).

I think Hayne will go to union play super 15 and in japan in the off season, he will be bored as and leave within 18mths.
