This smells a lot like Brett Stewart's case (which doesn't mean I think Hayne is innocent.. and not that I think Stewart was innocent but I'm not allowed to discuss that), in which case, seriously how do people (let alone high profile people with even more dollars at stake) still put themselves in these situations? And this goes for the accusers as well as the accuseds

Honestly unless they're going to be celibate they're potentially in this situation by default. Anyone can root a bloke and then say "I didn't consent!" and the potential for attracting these kinds of people increases with your salary and fame

Matt Lodge (broncos) went the full Beau Milat in New York, was found guilty and then was sued the same way. IIRC he had $US1.6M awarded against him.

Ive worked with a few who played at a lot lower levels. Some of the things they would get up to made me sick.

These guys have women thrown at them from a very young age. They aren't chasing them. It gives some an inflated ego. Things ypu wouldnt do to another person they find funny.

I do not see Hayne as this type of guy. But you never know. Could of been perked up on roids and higher then normal testosterone level. Turn him into beast mode.

I agree with the first part of your post (the last paragraph was gibber).

They are benefitting from a social construct that has them at the top of the food chain.

In most instances it is women that are left alone to deal with instances of sexual abuse.

People on here projecting fears that these types of events are a worry for men are kidding themselves.

Provided you behave yourself and treat women with respect you have nothing to worry about.

TBH I understand how the famous get in the situation of being accused whether true or not, but even you would be staggered how many everyday people this happens to i.e. one or both parties being drunk (in some cases so drunk that can't even remember if they did have sex or not) and of course this all leads to the twistedness of....

But disentangling the femonazism, don't mix blind intoxication and random person sex. Especially if you have money.

On that picture, a mate of mine once came up with a reasonable line of questioning regarding the sequence of events (who got kit off in what order, acts, positions, etc) that SHE reckons would fly somewhat in the face of many cases
