look after sleeping on it for a couple of nights, if Hayne was 22 i'd call him a greedy merkin, but he is 29 and may only have another 3-4 years to make a big income. I think he needed to look after himself and set him up for life after footy and he has good on him.
I hope he tears Queensland a new one in Origin next year.
Well, now he's a Titan they will find a way for him to play for the maroons next year.

I'm a coaster these days and I rarely go to the Titans games & signing Hayne, I probably will never go there again. Maybe that's bitter, but on the coast many Pubs and Clubs, most people are watching AFL. Also, if the Titans make the 8 it will beneficial for the Titans. If they don't, it will be interesting next year - How many seats they get?

The question has to be asked, what makes someone sign a deal for 2 1/4 years, who apparently 8 hours earlier was only going to check out their facilities.
Have you considered that their facilities are located near Dreamworld, and for all we know could also include the field of dreams.

The Dreamworld reference is very appropriate... to (mis)quote Midnight Oil, I sense Jarryd's dreamworld is just about to end.

I'd love to see Hayne forget the rules on Sunday... make a 40m break on his wing and step over the sideline when he comes to the fullback, and then turn around to claim some high fives for making a "first down"!

So much anger and so many childish comments .

I can't wait for today's game and I hope he kills it but I think he'll be a bit rusty.

Oh he'll kill it... Don't worry about that.

But I'm expecting it to happen from the word go next season not today ... Smart move to throw him in straight away they're only going to get their monies worth after a few games under his belt..

I do not wish him any ill. It's not in me as a person, however as a life long Eels' fan and Jarryd Hayne advocate I feel bitterly betrayed. I think that one day he will regret this decision.

Look I feel the same but more importantly I think we'll definitely come out smelling prettier with the current crop of players and the addition of a few more...
BAs signing is the most important since Smithys signing in 96...
I'm now confident with whoever we field we'll be more than competitive as long as brads on the 2 way in the coaches box

Yep, history will show that the Titans overpaid for Hayne and we made the right choice not f**king up our club (again) matching their offer.

Anything less than a premiership for them is a failure imo.

Good luck, Jarryd.

I'm keen to see what he can do but also think he will be off the pace a little.

It is probably one of the most anticipated club games for some time. Love him or loathe him, having him back in the game (even if it isn't with the eels) can only be a good thing.

Fox are doing a dedicated jarryd camera following him all game

Do you reckon they would have bothered had he come back to parra?

Were you critical of Hayne when he dissed our club?

I too am anxious to see how he goes. I know he'll do good, but am hoping he's average.

Some noble comments by some on here.

Personally I won't be watching it and have zero interest in how he goes. This feels exactly like Judas Lyon all over again. It's a shame, because if he handled it better, I and tens of thousands of Eels fans would not feel bitter at all.

All he had to do was be honest about negotiations. Say that the Eels offer was too low. Parra declare that they are out. Everyone is in shock for 24 hours. Hayne signs for highest offer. We shake hands and move on.

Instead he had to embark on a childish whinge-fest blaming everything on us and never telling the truth that it just came down to cash. Fine do the best for your family etc. Just say it merkin.
