If that was Haynes first game back last night you'd just shrug your shoulders and excuse him for being rusty, but it was his 4th game and far and away his worst performance, this must be a concern for Henry and the Titans...

Fans will only tolerate it for so long with that price tag.

He will get a ride until he has on off season and he deserves that but if he doesn't hit the ground running I'm sure crowds will drop off and the million + price tag will become a problem for the team......

Glad it's them and not us to be honest!

Let me pose a scenario to you guys:

Over the off season Hayne realises he has made a massive mistake and asks the Titans for a release. Would you take him back at our original offer? Let's assume its $800K.

Right now no more than 800k.

Is this a hypothetical in your mind or something The Plane always had planned?

It's a hypothetical but in all seriousness I cannot see him lasting there. He just seems unsettled and he ain't no fullback anymore.

Moylan showed him up last week.
Coote absolutely owned him this week.

If Titans are lucky enough to make the finals, Boyd will sure as hell shit on him from a great height next week.

What a great 2 or 3 weeks for him to end the season on.

Nope

The current squad has done an amazing job and we are in a position to not only retain but build on it. Hayne would force guys like Gutho, Mau, Semi out the door.

Good point. Gutho, Semi and Mau should be priorities.

I can't see the Titans letting Hayne go easily.

They had a disaster with the DCE backflip.
Got some momentum with Ash Taylor looking good.
Talked up getting Hayne as the marquee superstar.
I dont think they would want the bad PR losing Hayne would cause

As I posted it at the time, I don't believe it was ever The Plane's intention to be on the Gold Coast for more than 5-9 weeks

I watched the Titans game closely yesterday and I'm not sure if Hayne's disinterested or if it's a case of not getting him involved anywhere near enough.

If it's a case of the later, I'm sure he'll get frustrated early into 2017.

It will depend how much of their salary cap they paid to him this year and how much of their salary cap ext year.

My guess is they blew all their remaining 2016 salary on The Plane and will pay him a well below market value under the salary cap next season. When the salary cap goes up in 2018 they will be back to paying market value.

yet and they're are some of the guys that got your team where it is thought Semi's been out injured etc.
If youse hadn't had the points taken off, would've been "in the mix" so to speak".
These guys all listen to the coach, Hayne doesn't and is lazy and too temperamental. In other words a liability.

That makes em less likely to want to let him go next year if he is currently a cheap marquee for them

I reckon that Henry wants the halves to run the show so Hayne has to take a back seat.

At Parra, if he calls for it, he gets it.

Probably not so much at the Tits
