So Hayne confirms the signing on twitter, saying that because of all the off-field drama at the eels they didn't offer him a deal.

I see this working out for the Titans like SBW worked out for us. A 2 year highly successful mercenary mission.

Let's ask not forget that the NRL would love to have another maiden premiership after all the good feels from the Cowboys

I thought June 30 was the cut off date for signings this year

Thats only for current Rugby League players.

Coming from another sport there is no cut off apparently.

Although I doubt a team could sign someone for only the finals.

Talk Jonathon Thusrton he knows about NRL conspiracies...You would think that the year that the Newcastle Knights have had this year it would have been good for the NRL to get Jarrod at Newcastle, it's not conspiracy it makes perfect sense.

I just find it strange that you complained about the him signing an NRL owned club, but then said you'd be cool with him signing with the Knights. Double standards.

Just to be clear because it hasn't been said 100000000 times already.

The June 30 deadline only applies to transfers within Rugby League.

Any club, even Parra, can sign NFL or Rugby 7s players whenever they want.

For him to play this season the NRL would have to register a contract for him for this season. His market value is about 1.2 mil per season according to all reports. So if he is to play this season it should be for a 1.2 mil contract, anything less and the NRL shouldn't register it.

If the Titans can fit that into this year's salary cap then they absolutely should be able to lodge such a contract and play him, and the story should be how great the Titans have been going while being so far under the salary cap.

I don't even want him here. All the money we're paying him should go to our current form players of the team. I also don't want to become a team that relies so heavily on one player, like we did with Roberts last year.

Sigh.

He doesnt seem too happy !

What do you mean? Then why is he coming here?
