Sucked in Hayne!!! Im sure Hindmarsh would love to stomp a hole in his ass after his lair effort with putting down the football in the corner instead of straightening up and scoring like a normal footballer. But, Jarryd thinks he is better than the rest and decides to showboat for the small crowd. Save the showboating for your Kings Cross efforts Hayne!!!

didn't change the result of the game. we scored like a set later after he started the move for our first try.

still a dick move even going for it and should definitely get a talking to for it. i can definitely see why something like that can add to the public perception that he is arrogant.

The day he grows up and decides to be a team man instead of an individual, he could be one of the greats.
Jarryd is what is holding Jarryd back.

Ignore the Hayne-Slanderous-Phags.

Seriously, these blokes are all morons. There wasn't a real issue with Hayne until Gus and his media cronies set out to villify him. Then all of a sudden he has an ego and attitude problem! Why? Because the all-knowing Gus Gould says so.

There's been a coordinated effort to turn people against Hayne, and I really have no idea why. But all the media lackeys suddenly hate him and want to ruin his rep.

All this despite the fact that his 2010 year was better than his 2009 season, and his 2011 season is arguably better than his 2010 season. Of course, people who only watch highlight tapes won't know this.

Hayne is one of the most team-orientated players in the game, but because the Eels are garbage he cops all the blame.

I'm seriously f**king pissed at how quick people have turned on Hayne for no other reason than that the pundits don't like him. He must have done something to piss someone serious off.

If Hayne played for half these merkins teams above, they'd all be sexing on their keyboards at how great he is. Especially the Dragqueen nuffy who cheers Brett Morris, lmfao

You really reckon? And what do you think about the way he tried to ground that ball though?

I don't listen to Gould or have the commentary turned on when I watch on TV, but seeing all the Parra games (home games at the ground), I'd say Hayne has a fair way to go before becoming what you'd call a team-oriented player (rather than a talented individual player).

Hayne had a good game otherwise tonight, his defence was very confident. But he through away 4 points for his team there.

I didn't see the game tonight, so if he had a shocker I'd be happy to concede that. I'm just speaking in generalities, and not necessarily against you mate.

I just feel on the whole Hayne cops way too much criticism and bullshit from fans. And it didn't use to happen, the anti-Hayne movement started with Gus and his media buddies.

Maybe if Kearney played him in his actual position, rather than bowing to the Ricky and Gus propaganda, he'd have gone alright. Put Lockyer on the wing, see how well he goes.

Hayne is a top 3 NRL fullback. I don't know what people want from him. It's paramount to slamming Gallen every week because his every game isn't as good as Origin Game 2, 2011.

And again that's not at you personally mate, I just feel Jarryd cops way too much flack than he should and it puzzles me more than anything. If the kid isn't scoring hatricks he gets bagged.

Jealousy mate. Plus people can't handle the fact that he doesn't yell and make loads of noise when he scores.

Also they don't like that when he cops cheap shots he retaliates and headbutts merkins.

Fair enough if you're speaking generally.

As a fan though, while fullback is currently Hayne's best position, and he among the best 4 or 5 fullbacks in the comp (Slater, Stewart, Boyd, Dugan), he needs to improve several facets of his fullback play to become the more complete player that we all know he will eventually be. Despite having heaps of raw attacking talent, he's still got a fair way to go imo.

Cutting out brain explosions like not going for the miracle put down when a simple one would have done the job is one of them!

Definitely. I just feel if he was in a better team, like say the Dragons or Manly, he wouldn't push these things.

He either isn't looking for enough work, or he's looking for too much work and is blowing opportunities.

I think it's the Eels more than anything else. And that's not necessarily an attack on the Eels, but if Hayne was playing behind even a half decent side this thread wouldn't exist.

And I'm personally not too bothered about his headbutts, butt(lol) that's just me. I don't see the big deal with the head or fists personally. On every occasion I've felt he was within his right to react.

Everyone is entitled to their views, there's plenty of quality players who I don't like and probably under rate(Weyman, Dugan, Tomkins etc). There isn't much wrong with it, and again this probably doesn't apply to you --- But I feel there's been a coordinated hate-campaign of sorts against Hayne by some established pundits and commentators.

I know probably most people want him back at the top of his game in 09 form, but I'm really not sure he's to blame. The Eels are just a bit average. Put him behind the Storm pack and he'd tear the game up again, in my view

Again though I'm a little turvy so my opinions might change tomorrow morning ;)
