Honestly his hammer-ons aren't that hard to do, try harmonic tapping whilst dive bombing it:lol:

Hendrix made things look harder then what they were because of his flair, honestly his stuff is taught to school kids these days:lol:

Add to that, guitar is is so far more advanced these days thanks to one Eddie Van Halen who made the guitar more complex and more versatile in styles.

I wouldn't know how to play guitar, so i wouldn't know what's basic or whats hard to play. But he's music was brilliant, and it's still being played 40 yrs after it's been released. That has got to tell you something.

very true, never said it didn't, just said his guitar isn't as complex as what believe...generally non-guitarists.

Haven't played Guitar for 6 months, and the last thing i'm going to do is come out of retirement to play Hendrix, if you like i can provide a link to a site with me just f**king around on the guitar of the top of my head over at a mates house.

Another thing, for my year 12 certificate in music we had to choose 3 songs, 2 in a group 1 by myself. I played Jealous guy on the guitar for one & Hey Joe for the other...Hey Joe like Jealous Guy was chosen because i knew the others would be able to handle it. The last piece which was individual i did Eruption.

as a guitar player he had a few gimmicks mostly built around distortion

It's not the point, i don't like playing Hendrix hence why i haven't played his stuff for almost 10 years, it was great when i started to learn his stuff but then i found guitarists who imo are far more technical, and once i found these guys why would i go back?

For me to play Hendrix is like asking me to play Nirvana, i simply wont do it, it's not my style.

And believe me i would do more then just play his stuff, i would use my initative to completely change it.

whats the point, as samwise said my style is out and i simply wont conform to other styles so i just stopped playing because no one liked my style.
