Holy sh*t, Firehouse! I completely forgot about them.

"Baby, don't treat me bad."

Awesome.

Also, Sebastian Bach rocks. That is all.

Seb Bach is the biggest girl ever to front a so called rock n roll band. Couldnt handle a bit of stick from a crowd at the coogee bay and packs it in and runs off stage....

He also put on one of the best shows I've seen at the metro a year later. The guys got some serious mental issues, but damn the guy can sing. He's always been a bit random towards crowds, he did 20 days jail for assaulting a bloke who threw a bottle onstage.

why thank you good sir, yeh FTTW is awesome i even dig their new cd Nothing to Prove is great too

so many of those older punk bands are under-rated in my opinion not many people give them the time of day and actually have a decent listen

bands like

Bouncing Souls
Social Distortion (to an extent because theyre pretty popular)
older Pennywise from Pennywise to Straight Ahead even from the ashes is awesome
Strung Out (only album i kinda dont like is blackhawks over los angeles but havnt given it a good listen)
No Use For A Name

and another band i really dig at the moment is swingin utters

Yessss awesome list. you like a lot of awesome 90s punk....the greatest era of an genre ever.

I listened to a bit of the utters in High School, pretty good band.

Have you heard of Deviates? They are an amazing band, sorta in the same style as Pennywise but more polished. They are incredible, only ever brought out 2 albums. They had a song on Punk O Rama 6 (Which just happens to be the greatest song of all time imo) but besides that, they didnt have much fanfare.

I find it hard to consider Crowded HOuse 'under rated' when they are
1. One of the most successfull bands to come out of Aust/NZ in the last 20 years
2. They are also very, very critically acclaimed.

So, when they're successful (both here and abroad) and when the critics love them, pretty hard to be under rated.

I've heard the name and had alot of those punk o Rama CDs so I have no doubt heard it
Most the bands on fat wreck in the era were under rated even nofx at the time and lagwagon
But an even older punk band I find under rated by fans is actually from Australia the saints they were awesome in their day

@ Lagwagon, hell yes!! I was listening to them today. Awesome band.

@ 90s Fat Wreck bands...agree to an extent. I thought Tilt, Snuff, 88 Fingers Louie and some others were very mediocre bands. But they proved to be the label for that great 90s sorta sub genre of Pop Punk bands that werent quite Pop Punk in the typical sense, but still kinda poppy. lol. Bands like NOFX, No Use for a Name, Lagwagon, The Ataris, Mad Caddies, Hi-Standard etc.

But my label of choice was def Epitaph.

Really? Pretty sure they're one of the biggest metal bands in the world right now mate.

Their latest album has apparently sold 250,000 copies, probably one of the highest of any metal album this year, and has been in the charts all around the world. In Aus for example it debuted at number 19, US as high as 11th, Finland as high as 6th.

Plus, all I ever hear about is people going on about how amazing these guys are (although personally I'm not really a fan).

So yeah, I can't really see how they're underrated. I mean, they're not exactly a pop group so they're not going to reach the popularity or acclaim of a band like Coldplay, Nickelback, etc. :p

Amorphis is fairly rated and respected in the metal underground, particularly their first couple albums, however I see what you mean in that they never really broke totally into the mainstream and lately seem to be less popular... although I guess that's probably because they've DRASTICALLY changed their style which would have lost them some of their fan base hey.

Going from some of the stuff I've seen you post in this forum you should try "The Chasm" that I mentioned earlier in this thread, you might like them mate. :D
Eg: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaaTC8XW4qs

A lot of people on the surface rate them. But they still fall behind bands like Opeth (who I love) and Slipknot (who I hate) on radio playlists (though I do hate radio playlists anyway). Seems a lot of people don't know who they are, and it's a shame.

Amorphis is, imo, one of the best at what they do but they receive less acclaim than they should imo. I have all their albums and they are all intricate, delicate and beautiful. I've never understood why changing their sound seems to equate to losing fans. Fickle fairweather fans...

I like The Chasm from that video. Nice.
