Horribly under-rated bands

A lot of people on the surface rate them. But they still fall behind bands like Opeth (who I love) and Slipknot (who I hate) on radio playlists (though I do hate radio playlists anyway). Seems a lot of people don't know who they are, and it's a shame.
Ahh ok, I see what you mean mate. :) I suppose in that sense you are right. I never listen to the radio so I wouldn't have any idea haha. But I get what you mean.

Amorphis is, imo, one of the best at what they do but they receive less acclaim than they should imo. I have all their albums and they are all intricate, delicate and beautiful. I've never understood why changing their sound seems to equate to losing fans. Fickle fairweather fans...
Yeah agreed mate they're good. I love "The Karelian Ithmus" and "Tales From the Thousand Lakes", and after hearing the 2 latest albums, although very different, they still manage to pull it off fairly well. Pretty impressive for a band to manage to change their sound and still be good hey? :D Haha yeah fans always leave after a major change of sound I guess... although I can't say I'm innocent of doing it too. Eg. Cryptopsy, who went from making close to the best death metal album ever to being the worst band in history.

I like The Chasm from that video. Nice.
Awesome. :D They have a lot of good sh*t mate, check em out. I only picked that song cause there weren't many on youtube, lol.

@ Lagwagon, hell yes!! I was listening to them today. Awesome band.

@ 90s Fat Wreck bands...agree to an extent. I thought Tilt, Snuff, 88 Fingers Louie and some others were very mediocre bands. But they proved to be the label for that great 90s sorta sub genre of Pop Punk bands that werent quite Pop Punk in the typical sense, but still kinda poppy. lol. Bands like NOFX, No Use for a Name, Lagwagon, The Ataris, Mad Caddies, Hi-Standard etc.

But my label of choice was def Epitaph.

yeh epitaph would be my fav too but fat wreck is definatley up there

on epitaph these bands i find under-rated

Every Time I Die
The Blackout
Bouncing Souls
Pulley
Tiger Army

but i hate escape the fate on that label lol cant stand that band

love Rollerball. Got three of their albums.

Seen em live plenty of times. I remember talking to their guitarist about Wolfmother, Jet etc and how bands like Rollerball had been doing a similar thing (much better by the way) for years with no radio airplay whatsoever.

Funny how the music industry works. If JJJ decide to back you it can be the difference between making it or not.

Yeah like I hate the radio, but it puzzles me how people go on and on about the same bands over again, you know?

I guess when a band changes sound you lose a bit of interest because the sound that originally drew you in is gone. I agree with Cryptopsy - such a shame.

I really like these guys. Kinda like an English version Brujeria lol.

Not sure if it was mentioned, (I didn't look) but I reckon Alter Bridge are extremely underated. They are pretty much the old Creed band with a new singer Myles Kennedy who has a kick arse voice and IMO they absolutely shatter Creed and do not resemble their old band whatsoever.

Clutch
Entombed
Corrosion of Conformity
The Black Keys
Sepultura (after Max left, no-one rates them but they still rule. A-Lex is one of fav albums released this year).

Does anyone here listen to Screaming Trees? I reckon they would have to be one of the most under-rated bands of the 80s/90s.

Also could list Soundgarden and Dinosaur Jr., and for something a bit more modern Tomahawk or Silversun Pickups.

I know a few people listen them in the over-rated category, but Arcade Fire should be the biggest band in the world. U2, Kings Of Leon etc?!
