How do we get a crowd for the rest of the year?

The Knights heavily rely on decent crowds showing up to pay the bills.

I think the crowds have been down 5k a game from the day Joey retired, and the combination of all the bad news in the last week could knock off another 10k.

We could be looking at 10 to 12k crowds for the rest of the season - which will blow out the budget.

We need to think of something to get the interest of the crowds - or we are in for big trouble.

The crowds were down from day dot this year. Seems like, along with some of the players, the crowd have lost all pride in the jersey too.

Only if they're ugly cheerleaders. Ian doesn't go for the pretty ones. Do you mate? ;-)

Sad but true Fred... some people that used to be regulars to Knights games dont go anymore because "Joey's gone" and that we "cant make the finals". Thats unfortunately the mind set of some fans.. well they arent really fans if they have that mindset but still

Name the Western Stand after Clint Newton....

Then knock it down!

That would reduce the ground capacity by 3,500 you flip and wouldnt be too nice if us long serving members & season ticket holders were in it at the time.

Maybe you can agree to detonate the TNT whilst you have your other hand on it in the dressing rooms (on a non game day)

10-12K crowds being the norm at Newcastle is never going to happen, especially this season.

Bring back the Pal Wonderdogs as the halftime entertainment. As a matter of fact, how about any form of halftime entertainment!?! Watching two guys hit a golfball at a plastic drop sheet doesn't quite do it for me.

Interestingly, in 2005 we were never flogged by 65 points.

Theres a direct correllation between team effort and attendence, in 2005 the fans knew that the team was giving their all to try and win a game, under enormous odds.

They showed glimpses of that resolve this year, but Sunday was a kick in the guts for all fans.

Don't blame the fans if numbers are down, if they took the lead from the players, then no one would turn up.

The club turned over a profit of roughly $820,000 last year. If crowds drop to 10-12k, we will be in some serious sh*t, although the people that turn up will want to drink more beer to get through the appalling footy...

Add to that you will have a sever drop in sales of merchandise such as jerseys, and drop in sponsors... all due to the fact A.Johns has retired. Then you have the backlash over a sh*t footy team...

Add to that the crowds are sh*t, and the club could be facing 2005 all over again TBH.
