I'm a Northern Beaches resident, and I couldn't believe the whinging from the Manly fans before their SFS semi-final last year.

"Oh they didn't put enough buses on for us." "Oh it should be at Brooky, the SFS is a trek." "f**k going into the city, I'm just going to watch it on TV"

Never mind the fact if it was at Brooky there would have been 10,000+ people locked out.

For f**k's sake, it's a 20km trip to the SFS. You'd think it was on the moon.

Ideally the Melbourne game would be Friday night and bulldogs Sunday. But as we are ch9's whore I expect we will continue to bend over and take it as they please.
That would have put the Melbourne game head to head with a final at the MCG. In isolation, *ideally* the Melbourne game would have been on Sunday when there is no AFL in town. As it stands, by playing at 5.30pm Saturday before another final at the MCG at 7.45pm we might actually receive a significant bump in attendance on what we'd get as a standalone event on Sunday. With a large crowd already in the area for the game at the MCG, it would be fairly easy for a significant share to make a day of it and attend both.

Really, with the Cowboys getting their preferred Saturday night slot and the possibility of a better crowd in Melbourne by playing in the slot immediately before an MCG final, the only other change would be to swap the Friday and Sunday matches. I'm sure the Raiders won't be complaining about a Sunday match but then they probably would've been happy with Friday night too. The Canterbury v Manly match would surely have drawn better on Sunday but that would have meant a short turnaround for both teams in the Canberra match. All in all, this is about as good as it was ever going to get.

Leigh.

Im going with a few mates on Friday. As a teacher, I knock off around 3:30 so no worries from me.
A lot of my mates wanted to come along but finishing at 5 on a Friday afternoon, and driving into Homebush would be a sh!tfight. I have done it before and has taken close to 2 hours just to get there when usually you could get there in 45 mins.

The Melbourne game being on the Friday would have also wiped out the possibility of 75% of the travelling Souths fans being there.

Got my tickets.

Heading straight into Modern Warfare with my flak jacket, grenades, and AK-74U with the sleight of hand perk and extra magazine. I just hope their fans don't call in the chopper.

How does FTA and going to the game link together?

You know your fans don't attend away games so don't even tri that one on. Eden park crowd and probably a game in Brisbane inflate that to buggery

You really are thick, aren't you. You can't do both.

Our fans do attend away games. I've attend 2 myself and I live in QLD. And apparently they attend in bigger numbers than dogs fans. And yes, it was a Brisbane game. The same Brisbane double header the dogs played in you twat.

If by this you mean there are more manly fans in QLD than Dog fans rather than Manly fans travel more than than Dogs fans.
If you truly think the latter....

There aren't more Manly fans in QLD than Dogs fans, you're deluded.

Saints and Dogs are probably the most supported non-QLD team up here

 We pulled more away from home than the dogs. Deal with it. And last year as well.
