Completely premeditated. That was his attempt to avoid being tackled when he landed, but it doesnt make it any less scummy. Bill is a dirty player, always has been. Funny to hear the commentary box all defending him, saying what an honest player he is. This is the same bloke that goes studs first into players defending the goal line.

If you bothered to watch last years final, he withdrew his foot allowing Sam Perret to score a try.
In the meantime stick to that round ball game of yours.

Madunit, and the others defending Slater, I see how most of you think it was an accident and doesn't deserve suspension which I can cop. But do you think Slater should be allowed to continue using this technique without punishment in the future?

Very well put. So.... does he get a little slap on the hand now with a gentle reminder to please not use it again or does he get a little holiday??

I'd say a little holiday due to his carry over points. There must be a punishment for dangerous play. A penalty doesn't cut it.

Good decision, the player in mid-air shouldn't never be penalised for somebody initiating contact with them.

The player in mid air should be penalised when the player in mid air initiates unnecessary contact.

Chasers can't tackle players in mid air but they have every right to get as close as possible to stop him from getting anywhere once he lands.

Slater knew what he was doing.

I'm not saying he kicked him on purpose but he deliberately lifts his legs unnecessarily to give himself room once he lands. It's unfair and dangerous.

Agree, harsh penalties should be handed out to any player making tackles with their throat. It could lead to season or even career ending foot injuries for their opponent.

Both the above are correct. Klemmer should have been penalised for running in and balking the player taking the bomb. Either contest the bomb or position yourself to tackle Slater when his feet touch the ground.

My biggest problem with Slater's Flying Crane is it prevents opposition players challenging for bombs in the air. Who wants to jump towards a set of boot studs at head height?

Except Klemmer didn't actually tackle him
