HOWZAT : A hattie trick, three in a row GAME DAY THREAD

Did everything we could to lose that game. Incredibly dumb. There’s a few blokes out there whose job it is to move the team into field goal position and then pull the trigger at the right moment. I thought after the first two f**k ups we couldn’t get it wrong again.

Somehow they outdid even that lowly expectation.

Good Morning Fellow Sharks, I am still fired up from yesterday’s performance.

My annoyance today is around the amount of heavy defending Nicho is doing. It is too much and it is heavy contact.

We create opportunities, but it seems to be the wrong player at the critical point of the play - when we need a speed man it’s a forward, when we need a crash play it’s our lightest player in the team.

It kills me when we use our Props as ball players.

Not a single Journalist had the courage to say to Fitz - How many chances does your Team need to win a game of football! You can’t be happy with that performance in critical moments - the team has a history of not producing when it counts Whats the issues and how do you address it? Thats 4 points Cronulla have lost (Raiders + Tigers) because they can’t ice the key moments .

No retirement's still a few years away. Maybe a little longer depending on how Trump keeps going.

Where are you?
Were you here for Songkran?
My wife and I have discussed moving to Thailand, not old enough for a retirement yet though.

Yeah we have been here since March.

Started in Bangkok, then Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Songkhla, Phattalung, Krabi and then Khao Lak.

Awesome.

I'm between Bangkok, Ratchaburi and Kanchanaburi in Nakhon Pathom.
I like Kanchanaburi. Very mountainous and some lovely country side. Gotta say though, the bridge on the river Kwai is a little underwhelming. I was expecting something grand, but it looks like it belongs in a toy train set haha.

How was Khao Lak?

We're looking for places for a holiday later in the year and want to go to an island or seaside town we haven't been to yet.

So far we've been to Phi Phi, Samui, Phuket and Koh Lanta as well as plenty of weekends in Hua Hin and Cha-Am and a couple at the Gold Coast of Thailand (Pattaya). Not my fave...

I'm thinking about Koh Chang or Koh Kood at the moment but wide open for recommendations.

Oh, and the war memorial in Kanchanaburi blew my mind.
Thousands of headstones for all of those who died on the Burma railway.
On one side, Americans, British, Kiwis, South Africans and whoever else.
The other side: Australians.

We were in Bangkok when the earthquake happened, freaked us out a bit because we were staying in a high rise so left and went to Kanchanaburi. As you know, no high rises there. Kanachanaburi was next on our itinerary also.

We enjoyed it there. The plan was to go to Hellfire Pass, but the day we went it was closed because of earthquake and they weren’t reopening until after we had planned to checkout. So, we will do Hellfire Pass another time.

We love Khao Lak and holiday there every year. It’s a quieter beach town, but with enough shops, local restaurants and markets to keep you entertained. A bit more popular nowadays with the Europeans and Russians etc, but that’s a lot of Thailand hey haha.

Yeah, like yourself, the party atmosphere isn’t on my wife and I’s list. Khao Lak fits that bill, but it does have some night life still if you wanted a drink.

Really recommend it if you want a relaxed holiday mate.

Not to pry but out of genuine interest, are you on a working visa or just doing border runs?

Yeah mate we went there, really really emotional place to be. We were really impressed with how well kept it is. If you’re interested in history, the museum across the road is quite good too.

Cheers for the tip mate, I'll keep it in mind.

No, I'm here legitimately.

My wife is Thai so I can apply to extend my visa every 12 months.
Provided I report to Immigration every 90 days and either keep a certain amount of money in the bank, or earn above a certain amount, I'm fine. Got both those bases well covered so it's all good.

I'm due to go again in a couple of months.

Good for you mate, would take a while to get used to the slower paced life I imagine.

I think ideally we would like to keep taking these longer vacations and spend part of the year in Australia and part of the year in Thailand.

It’s interesting hearing other peoples living abroad stories so forgive me for being nosey haha
