Double FFS

I remember someone mentioning it to me when they were showing something in shitty definition and Gem was running reruns of some garbage from the 80s and how much of a waste it was.

Could be wrong of course

I thought Gem had been HD for a while? They just never actually showed much in HD.
No its special.

Nine this week introduced a 9GEM HD simulcast for the upcoming Ashes series.

This is available on Channel 95 in all metro cities (may require set rescan).

The use of bandwidth follows the closure of the YourMoney channel.

9GEM remains in SD on Channel 92.

There are also plans to offer the same for NBN viewers in coming weeks.

On 26 November 2015, the Nine Network introduced a network-wide rebrand of all of its digital channels with GEM being renamed "9Gem".[6] Additionally, due to the rebroadcast of 9HD on channel 90, 9Gem was moved to channel 92 and converted from HD to SD.[7]

I'm out of date with my remembering

It doesn't matter which way you cut it, free to air TV is free for a reason though it does have its moments. There was a time when I had to tune the antenna to WIN in Wollongong to pick up the Sydney test and one day games.
