A couple of years ago India refused to play the first test at the Gabba cuz they got sick of being ambushed in the first test being played on a green top with lots of sideways movement, and as usual, India got their way and then came Covid so looks like it's permanent now.

Mind you the WACA is not going to be much easier to play on due to its bounce.

They are increasing the Border-Gavaskar series between the 2 teams to 5 tests so neither Perth or Brisbane will miss out.

I suspect it will run the same schedule moving forward as the ashes.
