I Dont' Like Cricket, Oh No, I Love it, Yeah

Yeah they describe everything and own up to it. You could not make this shit up. Sorry I don’t have the link for the presser

Yeh, I've read the press report on Cricinfo etc, and you see what Smith says, but you don't see exactly what question was being asked. Hard to believe that it is only the leadership group (and not one other bloke) that knew what was cooking.

one of the dumbest things I've ever seen in Aussie cricket

there wont be any appealing this, unlike Faf, they will carry this baggage around for as long as they play

I know why I now hate cricket. This f**ked up generarion has destroyed it for me. Old school died with Steve Waugh.

Pretty ludicrous comment IMO.

Anyway Smith needs to be stood down as captain and Lehmann as coach. Resorting to this kind of cheap shit is a clear indication they have lost the plot. Bring in Travis Head, give him the captaincy.

I think they will be too spineless to sack Smith

look at the history of ball tampering, I cant recall anyone being sacked

Faf did it and got the support of the saffas so much that they appealed and he was cleared to play despite there being video evidence of him rubbing mints on the ball and it was not his first offence as he had been charged previosly for rubbing the ball on his zipper

Nah I agree, like I said in the match thread they're too spineless to actually do it but I think it just shows we're out of ideas.

It's honestly not even about the ball tampering. On the scale it's pretty minor. It's about the fact that he had to resort to that sort of thing because he was so out of his depth tactically. That shows he's no captain IMO

First time we've ever done it?.... someone will be searching old footage now?
Definitely won't be the first time we've done it. Just the first time we've been caught.

Everyone pushes the envelope in terms of ball condition ever since two of the greatest fast bowlers of all time changed the game using bottle caps.

I'm more concerned about what it says about our mentality

So who do you think is our ""leadership group" ... smith, warner ... who else? ... lyon? Starc? Hazelwood? .... group implies more than the capt and vice

Lehmann. Lyon I'm pretty sure is there, and Starc.

Whether it was a unanimous decision or not we'll probably never know. Realistically I wouldn't be sacking players from the side over it but their time as leaders should be done

Won't be hearing much about Nathan Cleary's knee for the next day or so.

But surely Smith's position is untenable.

They've explicitly denied that Lehman had anything to do with the planning of this particular incident....though he was quick to send a runner out when he saw the tv footage.

If it wasnt unanimous then steve smith is a dog for branding the whole group .... all senior players are now tarnished ... smith clearly had to be onboard - no captain would object but let it happen
