haven't read the article but agree, for mine its infected the junior cricket set up, all kids want to be able to play T20 and to do that they basically have to forget everything thier club coaches tell them

look at Big Sam's debut, great crowd pleaser but where is he now ?

It's why I really liked what I saw from Matt Renshaw at Teat level.

He would dig in, and face 150 balls to score his 50.

That's what you need from a top order Test batsman, imo.

Any test where the fast bowling is right on top is a good one. Day 3 should be enthralling.
Maybe we need to start playing 4 fast bowlers to get some experience into whoever is next best. Is any young pace bowler doing well at 50 over international cricket?

Typical Lords pitch where neither Saffas or Aussies are used to batting on, bowlers were always going to dominate this one.

Another 30 or 40 runs would be plenty I thnk, Bavuma being the most important wicket to get, he is dangerous, although 24 50s and only 4 100s suggests to me he ha a fitness issue and its not surprising when you look at him.

This maybe our last WTC for a while as I dont think any of these bowlers will be around in 4 years time, so lets make it count.

What height is Bavuma? He looks midget like. Batting is about the only example in sport where being short looks sort of cool. Tendulkar, Gavaskar, Border, Bradman etc.

Cummings is the youngest at 32. Lyon 37 Starc 35 Hazelwood 34.

We will be in trouble if we don't have decent replacements..

Bowlands 36 so he isn't replacing anyone

Spencer Johnson and Xavier Bartlett would be good in test cricket

If Jhy Richardson can stay on the paddock he would slot in for a few years

Young speed bucks like Oneill and Morris might get given a crack as they develop in Shield

Its our batting thats the bigger worry

Need Green, Konstas, McSweeney to all go good at test level when retirements start happening

Konstas will be fine if we give him time every angry merkin has called for his head after 4 games. If they watched him in first class cricket they will see he isn't just a go out and smash the leather off the ball player...

Green was going ok at county cricket this year and has delivered 2 crap innings at 1st drop.

McSweeney doesn't fill me with much optimism but who knows

They all have crap first class averages under 40..

Edit:
I am taking Border off this list turns out he is 175cm and Bradman was 173cm
But add: the legend David Boon 160cm. He was a lot shorter than I thought. Shorter than Gavaskar 165cm and Tendulkar 165cm. Close to a midget.
Edit: Thinking about it, I don't believe it. No way Boon was shorter than Bavuma at 162cm.
