Hevy what is your online handle and what site do you play I want to add you to my donk list.

That was the biggest load of crap I have ever read.

Rather have mid pair than Aces...

You say that because A-A is a favourite against any random hand, however I'm never going to push my whole stack in on Aces unless it's pre-flop. After that (ie posrt-flop) I can assume that the only hand that can call a push will be a hand that beats me unless it's some moron that will go all in with nothing but top pair. In general, I don't consider Aces to be a profitable hand.

The problem a lot of players have is that they can't get away from their big pairs. If I have 7-7 on a board of 10-7-2 then chances are I'm going to stack my opponent. But what if I have A-A on a board of Q-10-3 when my opponent has 7-7? If I come out betting they're not going to come with me.

Find me a pro that wants A-A early in a tournament and I'll eat my socks!

Cash games are different but again tread cautiously. Do I want Aces in cash games? Of course I do! But my absolute favourite hands of all are small-mid pairs on the button. Give me that any day of the week (although I'll only call a significant raise or re-raise when my opponent has a monster stack).

In the last 30 minutes multitabling sngs I have had.

AQ split with A6. Board A99xK
AK lost to AQ twice within three hands against the same opponent.
AA lost to 55. Trips.
AA lost to 74. Straight.
Ks6s lost to K4os. Heads up, very short stacked, all in, K on the flop, 4 hit the river.
77 lost to A3. The A hit.
AK lost to A5. Made the straight.
JJ lost to 55. Both made trips on the flop, he made quads on the turn.

I was also getting berated by a guy last night who was UTG and raised all in, I called with AK in the SB and he followed me for an hour or so berating me, he had deuces.

Another guy also tried convincing me that stacking off with nothing but an A high flush draw after the flop is an MUST play lol.

I love poker.

f**k me, played for 1 1/2 hours and only won once with pocket 4's. Even then it was only the blinds. One of those days where someone else had a higher straight, better kicker, river ratted, etc

I'm so f**king furious right now. Lost a 400bb pot after flopping top set, only to be drawn out by a two outer. I'll probably have to drop back to some smaller stakes to rebuild now.

f**kity f**k f**k.

f**kity f**k f**k.

Let me guess - you hit trips, he couldn't fold his overpair and got lucky on the river?

Nothing more frustrating.

Ooh here's one for you.

I have 8-8 in the bb with about 80 bb in front of me. Middle player standard raise, three callers including me. Flop is K-K-8.

I open with a raise, the button calls. Turn 6, I lead out again because he has to have a King, he re-raises, I raise all in he calls with K-10.

River 6.

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooo ....... f**k off.

That's the one. It kills even more because we were so deep and I'd been waiting to stack this donk for hours.

The feeling is about 1000x worse than getting your aces cracked.

Oh that's my point about Aces - they get cracked all the time but when you flop trips you expect to win the hand.

How's this for a shocker - about a month ago I flopped set over set ... and lost to a four-card runner-runner flush. That was tough to take.

Something that still irks the f**k of me about online poker is the amount of times a small stack will flop a set and lose to a flush/straight.

Like this sh*t.

That is so sick, lol.

I've been in a similar situation with my mate at a home game...i had 99 he had JJ....flop was JT9...so we both flopped sets and neither of us were going to get away from it....both went all in

turn 8
river 7 for a chop

lol

So it does happen live? lol

I'd get away from the 10 centers but they're building my bankroll slowly but surely. Even allowing for constant sh*t like that. To be honest, I play very tight aggressive, wait for a big hand and push hard, someone always calls....

Stars is getting like f**king full tilt.

Same crap, different site.

Try winning with the lead while you're short-stacked up against the table chip leader. Pre-or post flop, it doesn't matter.

I hear ya.

In the $75k gtee on Tilt today I was sitting in the top 100 for the majority of the tournament. I then went to the table being dominated by the chip leader.

Blinds: 200/400 ante 25

UTG: Villan - 99 (Chips 30,198): raised to 999
UTG+1: fold
MP: fold
MP: fold
MP: fold
CO: fold
BT: HERO - JJ (Chips 12145) calls 999
SB: fold
BB: fold

Flop 6h - 8h - 7s
pot = 4821

Villain: checks
Hero: all in

Turn: 7c
River: 9c

Can't blame him for calling, a lot of outs with the OP against the board - with that said, I think it's a dumb play at this stage of a tournament. My image was TAG and I hadn't showed any hands, my shove indicates a set or PP (that would be ahead of his 99).

Whilst on the table, the CL rivered three other opponents who were ahead of him pre flop. f**k I hate poker. If I win that hand, I cruise on past the bubble and make another run to a 5-figure score with any luck.
