I love Pokerstars

Still having a bad run, stars has morphed into full tilt. A flopped set will lose to any draw, no matter how outrageous, flopping a straight is certain death, aces won't hold up against any pair...

f**k online poker.

What happened to the days of building a bankroll in the ring games, only to piss it all away in the tournaments? Tournies are much higher variance.

I find ring games to be too boring. I'll play 4 tables at a time, usually a couple of sng's and a freeroll or two. I've got a bunch of second round tickets on starts now that I can only use occasionally because of the sh*t times they're on.

I do play the odd ring game but I'm one of those hit and run arseholes.

I thought this was funny.

I'm sitting there with one of this guy's 7's and after the flop he had to hit a 6 and an 8 to take the hand. Needless to say, the bloke with the 9's was the lower stack...

I'm the opposite, I tend to build a bankroll in tournaments and then donk it all off in the cash games  It probably doesn't help that I've played outside my roll several times

I've discovered a bit of a talent for NL Omaha Hi-Lo.

I play the freerolls on Stars occassionally and have won a bunch of second round tickets (11) but in the past week or so I've won two via NL Omaha H/L and both times I made the final table in 9,000 player fields.

I have not played Omaha for quite a while and I was never serious with it - but Omaha H/L was always a good place for a player with knowledge & discipline to make money. There are so many more mistakes for idiots to make. And many more opportunties to hit the nuts - and they will still bet into you.

Best tip I got - always be playing to scoop the pot. Don't play for 1/2 the pot only. Nothing like pouring a pile of chips in only to get quartered, or worse.

Too true.

A few times I'd double or triple up with a scoop. The little old wheel gave me quite a few big pots.

I've just started to play the odd Badugi freeroll too, interesting game, unlike Razz..

When I'm not playing NLHE I like to play PLO. There's so much action and you can really clean up if you know what you're doing.

I've seat myself a neat challenge.

I've decided to use 5.50 out of my and work it up to $100. I won't use any other cash in my account, simply that.

I'm going to start with maybe a few micros or maybe double or nothings. I had a real good record in those.

Good luck, let me know how you're going. I'm near $90 after kicking off with $5. But it has taken plenty of time, 6 odd months.

For the record, I play only 25 cent and 10 cent SnG's with the odd 10, 25 or 50 cent tourney thrown in. I also play occassionally at the 1/2 cent ring games.

I have played a few Double or nothings, but generally I stick to the above and just wear the inevitable variance.

Cheers Hevy.

I think I have to play Badugi for money and find out if I am any good.

I came 3rd in another 6,000 player freeroll and I sat out with 10 to go (went to bed). that's two final tables in the last three I've played. And in the third one I had a decent stack but had to leave it.

The problem is that the tourneys are $2 minimum and I'm not prepared to risk that much of the roll yet.
