I don't think it was unfair. I think when you get 10 in the bin & walk off saying " F*cking cheat.... " it's gonna happen.

The best part of that match was when Shakrs went for a field goal 70 points down.

Well the bit that made me think it was just a tad harsh is the fact he didn't send him off straight away after Peach called him a cheat. He yelled out at him for 2 minutes and then got fed up and sent him off.

But that was the weirdest game of football I have seen for quite some time.

I'm a big Michael Jackson fan, and it rocked me. Still does - I still can't believe it.

And watching the final address from his family and seeing his kids burst into tears...It just tore my heart out.

Then I saw "This Is It" and got goosebumps. It was amazing, and it really showed what he was like as a professional. His show was set to be AMAZING.

I know he will be forever tainted by the alleged things he did in his private life, but his work for charities, music and the entertainment industry itself will never be forgotten. He was unique, and I doubt we will ever see another entertainer of his calibre.

And to try to lift the feeling up here after that...I remember when we beat Cronulla 74-4 and The Peach got sent off. 'Twas unfair, but very, very funny.

All bullsh*t anyway

From what I have seen and/or read, it would seem that way. I have tried to get plenty of stories from both sides to form an educated opinion and it seems it was all drama.

But I guess we'll never truly know.

One thing we do know, though, is what he brought to music and entertainment and all the money and time he donated to charities.

The last time I saw my Grandfather. I wrote an article about it
http://andrewrlp.blogspot.com.au/2011/08/theo-2010.html

The first time I saw my wife, was at Sydney Central station, she had jeans and a pink figure hugging woollen jumper on. My first thought was "I have no f**king chance with her" and just decided then and there to just be her friend.

The time I broke some kids face with a bouncer in cricket, the whole thing happened in slow motion.

The time I had my knee and ankle utterly f**ked playing footy in a freak accident tackle.

The day my friend Tony died. He was 14, I was 13. I wrote about that too:
http://andrewrlp.blogspot.com.au/2011/08/tony-2010.html

My first day living away from home.

My 6 months living in Alice Springs, visiting and learning all about Aboriginal cultures, and the impact white people have had on their lives, over many generations.

Finally getting to see Metallica live in 2010. I was still recovering from a broken ankle and had a shit day all day, but they made it all better.

The bushfires I fought in the country town I grew up in 1995-99. One in 1998 went for 3 weeks and I was only able to have 3 hour sleeps between shifts. I didn't see home for 10 days and had to get special compensation to sit my HSC exams, as I'd missed all of them due to the fires.

Helping a guy on a train in Brisbane who had chest pains. Everyone stood there looking at him. I stayed with him until the ambulance arrived. They informed me he had a stroke and was lucky I acted as quickly as I did. 6 months later and I got told I'd been made redundant, and on the miserable train ride home, I saw him and went and had a chat with him.

The day I found Rugby League Project. It created a great friendship and helped me stay sane and focussed and on a work routine, as I put in many hours of work on the site while I looked for work. Azkatro is a great friend.

When I was 7 and my parents told me that they were told my 5 year old sister had cancer. After months of seeing specialist and getting different opinions, she was flown to Sydney and had an operation where they found that the alleged cancerous lump was a non cancerous cyst which was lanced.

So long ago (i was 16).

I remember it every day of my life since and probably will untill the day I die.

The sight of opening a garage door and seeing my older brother's lifeless body hanging from a rope after he went missing for 3 days.

Thank you all for the kind words, he was a troubled man and attempted suicide 2 times before he hung himself (the first 2 were cutting the wrists). ElephantJuice and unfaithful women drove him over the edge, but to his last day he always made sure I never followed his path of violence and ElephantJuice, for that I respect him.

I want to reach through the Internet and give you a big hug

Thanks, I am at ease with it now. Took a long time to come to terms with why someone so young and talented and loved by so many found his only way out was to take his own life. I went through stages of thinking he was a coward and hating him but loving him and missing him all at the same time. Now I realise he was tormented beyond the point of believing things would get better and chose to end the turmoil.

One of the hardest things I have had to deal with was about 2 years ago one of my workmates twin sons took his life in the same way. At the end of the day it did equip me to be there for support for my workmate and I had some understanding of what he was going through, it was similar but would of been so much more gut wrenching for my mate as it was his child.

It's easy for me to say that I wish I was dead because of the pain im in all the time ect. But I'd never be able to do it.

I understand why people do it and I hate it when people call it selfish. When you feel you literally have no option and can't see any other way because trust me, I've been close. And I've also seen the result of it.

Just so heartbreaking.

Sad story 9701, so tragic. :(

I have several very high and low new moments I will never forget - this year sadly. Not sure I'm ready to share them yet but I'm sure I will in time.

Life events certainly put a lot of things into perspective, that's for sure.

Terribly sorry to hear that, mate.

I had a close relative of mine take his own life so I know how hard it can be, to some degree. He took his life because he was muslim and gay and he was petrified about telling his parents and feared the worse. They were incredibly strict and homophobic and if I remember correctly, made it clear to him if he was gay they'd dis-own him.

I'd have to say the most orgasmic sporting moment was when Cahill slotted in that first goal against Japan, and then we followed up with 2 more. I remember being at the pub at around 3 in the morning with 40 other people. We all went nuts and started trashing the place when we scored. Was a dour first 80 minutes...

This but at home... I got up and watched the match. I think Dad got up at halftime, and we both screamed and jumped when Cahill scored. This obviously woke up Mum, who got up, and when Cahill scored his second, similiar response by us, and it woke my Sister up. By the end of the game, all four of us were celebrating like we had won the thing.

Another thing I remember is the Sydney Olympics. I was only in year 6, but it was one of those months I will not forget. I only went to one event, but it was the QF of the Mens Football with a game of Spain vs Italy. Everyone ended up going for Spain, due to Italy's diving. Spain won with a last minute goal. I remember, either inside or outside the stadium they were showing the Womens Water Polo Gold medal match, which the Aussies won in extra time so Dad and I walked back to Central from the SFS and stopped halfway at maybe Foresters and stood outside as the Aussie Girls got their golds, and deadset everyone in the pub was singing the anthem.
